Abstract: A skin treatment method which includes ionizing oxygen and then mixing the ionized oxygen with saline solution to produce an energized saline solution is disclosed. The method further includes applying the energized saline solution to the skin as a mist-like spray to treat the skin. The system used to carry out the method includes an oxygen concentrator for generating oxygen and an ionizer for imparting an electric charge to the oxygen to produce ionized oxygen. The system also includes a bag of saline solution as well as a peristaltic pump for pumping the saline solution from the bag to a spray nozzle mounted in a handheld wand. The concentrator further includes apparatus for pumping or delivering the oxygen and ultimately the ionized oxygen to the spray nozzle. The spray nozzle mixes and atomizes the ionized oxygen and saline solution to produce a spray-like mist of the same which is then applied to an individual's skin.
Abstract: A method is provided for promoting blood clotting. The area which is bleeding is contacted with an aluminophosphate molecular sieve. The molecular sieve preferably contains a substance which assists the clotting of blood. This substance is preferably Ca2+ ions, which are readily introduced into aluminophosphate molecular sieves. Preferred aluminophosphate molecular sieves include AlPO4-5 and VPI-5.
Abstract: The invention provides a method for treating cancers that are dependent on cyclin D1 for proliferation, survival, metastasis and differentiation, involving administering a composition containing an effective amount of arsenic trioxide to an affected patient. The arsenic trioxide can be administered orally, for example, as a solution, suspension, syrup, emulsion, tablet, or capsule. The composition can also contain one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers and/or excipients.
Abstract: Compounds of formula (I) wherein the symbols have the meaning given in the specification, as well as processes for preparing the compounds (I), pesticidal compositions and synergistic mixtures comprising compounds (I), methods for the control of insects, acarids or nematodes by contacting the pests or their food supply, habitat or breeding grounds with a pesticidally effective amount of compounds formula (I), and a method for treating, controlling, preventing or protecting animals against infestation or infection by parasites which comprises orally, topically or parenterally administering or applying to the animals a parasiticidally effective amount of compounds of formula (I).

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for preventing or treating infectious diseases caused by extracellular microorganisms, such as bacteria and fungi, by systemically administering to a patient a compound containing gallium. The extracellular microorganisms targeted by the present methods include methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VRE), E. coli O157:H7, fluoroquinolone-resistant Salmonella typhi, and the like. Furthermore, in the present methods, gallium compounds can be co-administered with one or more conventional antimicrobial agents to treat infectious diseases with reduced risks of creating multi-drug resistant pathogens. The methods of the present invention is also applicable to those microorganisms, such as ulcer-causing Helicobacter pylori, complete eradication of which so far has been difficult to achieve.
Abstract: A herbomineral composition for the treatment of sickle cell disease is described in the present invention. The herbo mineral composition include some herbal ingredients such as Jaiphal, Sunthi, Jivanti, Haritaki, Guduchi, Shatavari, Dadima, Pippali, along with the therapeutic minerals such as Abrakha Bhasma and Loha Bhasma at suitable concentrations to obtain synergistic anti sickling activity. The composition exhibited up to 60-87% antisickling activity on RBCs in ‘vitro’ at various concentrations. Patients treated with this composition found relief from most of the severe symptoms of sickle cell disease and sickle cell anemia, and had excellent improvement in quality of life.
Abstract: A dispenser for an animal attractant including: a housing, wherein the housing includes a chamber for containing a spool; a spool, wherein the spool is associated with the chamber of the housing, and wherein the spool is associated with a deer attractant; and wherein the deer attractant includes a substrate, wherein the substrate is associated with an agent wherein the agent includes a deer attractant.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions and methods for altering cell function. In particular, the present invention provides compositions comprising selenium (e.g., SEL-PLEX) and methods of using the same (e.g., as a therapeutic and/or prophylactic treatment for neurodegenerative disease). Additionally, the present invention demonstrates that specific forms of selenium (e.g., SEL-PLEX) possess the ability to alter expression of genes associated with disease and/or aging while other forms of selenium (e.g., selenomethionine) do not.
Abstract: The novel active compound combinations comprising 2-[2-(1-chlorocyclopropyl)-3-(2-chlorophenyl)-2-hydroxypropyl]-2,4-dihydro-[1,2,4]-triazole-3-thione of the formula and the active compound of groups (1) to (24) listed in the description have very good fungicidal properties.
