  • Patent number: 10404992
Abstract: Techniques and systems are provided for encoding video data. For example, restrictions on certain prediction modes can be applied for video coding. A restriction can be imposed that prevents inter-prediction bi-prediction from being performed on video data when certain conditions are met. For example, bi-prediction restriction can be based on whether intra-block copy prediction is enabled for one or more coding units or blocks of the video data, whether a value of a syntax element indicates that one or more motion vectors are in non-integer accuracy, whether both motion vectors of a bi-prediction block are in non-integer accuracy, whether the motion vectors of a bi-prediction block are not identical and/or are not from the same reference index, or any combination thereof. If one or more of these conditions are met, the restriction on bi-prediction can be applied, preventing bi-prediction from being performed on certain coding units or blocks.

  • Patent number: 10397579
Abstract: A position coordinate difference computing unit (5a to 5c) calculates position coordinate differences between position coordinates of the output digital signals and position coordinates of the input digital signals adjacent to the position coordinates. An FIR coefficient memory (13a to 13c) stores FIR coefficients of an FIR-LPF and outputs FIR coefficients corresponding to position coordinate differences between a fixed number of the output digital signals adjacent to the position coordinates of the output digital signals and the output digital signals. A control unit (11) supplies a group of the FIR coefficients and a group of the input digital signals corresponding to the respective position coordinate differences to the parallel FIR calculator (4) in predetermined order when the position coordinate differences corresponding to two or more different output digital signals are concurrently computed.

  • Patent number: 10390087
Abstract: A video processing device is configured to obtain, from a bitstream, one or more syntax elements indicating one or more partitioning schemes for an output layer set. For each respective partitioning scheme of the one or more partitioning schemes, the respective partitioning scheme specifies a division of the output layer set into one or more partitions. Each layer in the output layer set belongs to exactly one partition in the respective partitioning scheme. Additionally, the video processing device obtains, from a Supplemental Enhancement Information (SEI) message or video usability information (VUI) in a video parameter set (VPS), hypothetical reference decoder (HRD) parameters for each of the one or more partitioning schemes. For each respective partition of the respective partitioning scheme, the video processing device tests, based on the HRD parameters for the respective partitioning scheme, the respective partition for conformance to a video coding standard.

  • Patent number: 10368083
Abstract: In general, this disclosure described techniques for pruning a list of motion vector prediction candidates based on picture order count (POC) values. A video coding device may be configured to generate the list of motion vector prediction candidates for a prediction unit (PU) of video data. The video coding device may prune a first motion vector prediction candidate from the list of motion vector prediction candidates when a POC value for a reference picture identified by the first motion vector prediction candidate is equal to a second POC value of a reference picture identified by a second motion vector prediction candidate in the list of motion vector prediction candidates. The video coding device may code the PU using the pruned list.

  • Patent number: 10368051
Abstract: A 3D-HEVC inter-frame information hiding method based on visual perception includes steps of information embedding and information extraction. In the step of information embedding, the human visual perception characteristic is considered, stereo salient images are obtained by a stereo image salient model, and the stereo salient images are divided into salient blocks and non-salient blocks with an otsu threshold. The coding quantization parameters are modified according to different modulation rules for different regions. Then, based on the modified quantization parameters, the coding-tree-units are coded to complete the information embedding. In the step of information extraction, no original video is needed, no any side information needs to be transmitted, and the secret information can be blindly extracted.
