  • Patent number: 8011210
Abstract: The invention relates to washing drum shell formed by a final sheet metal strip which is coiled in the form of a cylinder and whose ends are welded to one another. The longitudinal sides thereof are connected to a bottom disk by a high-flange joint provided with transversal embossments. The high flange joint is sufficiently stable even when the carriers of the washing drum are drawn into the shell. The drawn-in carriers are connected by at least one fold to openings shaped in at least one bottom disk and the transversal embossments of the high flange joint are shaped in an area which is arranged directly near a connection between the drawn-in carriers and the bottom disk.

  • Patent number: 8002903
Abstract: A dishwasher and associated control method are provided wherein a water supply manifold supplies a wash chamber with wash liquid. The supply manifold includes a hot water inlet from an external hot water source and a separate cold water inlet, and is configured to be selectively actuated between the hot water inlet or cold water inlet. A controller is in communication with the supply manifold and is configured to act on a signal that is indicative of an actual or pre-defined high electricity demand period on a power supply to the hot water source. The controller is configured to generate an output control signal to the supply manifold to cause the manifold to direct substantially only cold water from the outlet to the wash chamber during the high electricity demand period.

  • Patent number: 7464720
Abstract: A water recirculator in a dishwasher supplies water to spray arms for washing dishes and also purifies contaminated water after washing the dishes. The water recirculator includes a sump for holding water, a water supply pump connected to the sump, a guide passage for guiding a portion of the water pumped by the water supply pump to a spray arm in a washing chamber, a pre-filtering unit for purifying a rest of the water pumped by the water pumped by the water supply pump by means of precipitating contaminants included in the water therein, and a main filtering unit for purifying the rest of the water passed through the pre-filtering unit.

  • Patent number: 7451510
Abstract: A method of performing a spinning operation of a washing machine is disclosed. First, a load weight of wet clothes contained in a tub is measured, and an optimal acceleration rate is calculated based upon the measured load weight. Finally, a rotational speed of the tub is gradually increased up to a predetermined speed at the calculated optimal acceleration rate such that the unbalanced distribution of the wet clothes within the tub is minimized.
