Patent number: 4516693Abstract: A sanitary water barrel for use on construction job sites and the like. This system employs a substantially standard barrel that has been modified to accept a replaceable plastic liner. The exterior of the water barrel near the upper end thereof is provided with radially extending hook members to engage with apertures placed near the upper periphery of a replaceable liner. The liner is provided with an integral spout which is passed through an opening in the side wall of the barrel. A weight- and spring-biased closure mechanism normally bears against the spout of the liner as it leaves the barrel causing the closing of the spout and therefore prevents water leakage therefrom. Water is caused to flow by raising a lever on the valve when desired. These special liners can be fabricated in a roll type fashion similar to garbage bags with perforated tear lines provided to separate each individual liner unit.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 1983Date of Patent: May 14, 1985Inventor: Roy T. Patent number: 4512444Abstract: A plate is attached to a rail which moves vertically in a housing. The housing includes a brake which rubs on one side of the rail; on the other side, there is a roller. A leaf spring is positioned between the housing and the roller. When the rail moves vertically in one direction, the roller is pushed progressively harder against the rail. This squeezes the rail against the brake, creating a braking force on the rail that increases, to maximum, in relation to distance the rail moves. This arrangement may be used as a buffer for an elevator cab or counterweight in an elevator.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 1983Date of Patent: April 23, 1985Assignee: Otis Elevator CompanyInventor: Werner Koppensteiner

Patent number: 4505405Abstract: A system for pumping liquid materials with reciprocating pumps driven by hydraulically operated motors, wherein the pressurized hydraulic oil which is used to drive the hydraulic motors is supplied via reciprocating proportioners. The reciprocating proportioners are driven by a reciprocating air motor operated under predetermined air pressure. The system operation is characterized in that, under blocked output pressure conditions, the air motor will inherently stall and thereby limit the pressure of the hydraulic oil acting to drive the hydraulic motors, which therefore limits the pumping pressure applied to the reciprocating pumps, and limits the output pressure of the pumped liquid materials.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 1980Date of Patent: March 19, 1985Assignee: Graco Inc.Inventors: Lawrence S.
