  • Patent number: 4947451
Abstract: In a satellite communication system wherein a common channel is used for communication between a central station (10) and a plurality of remote stations (12) through a satellite transponder (11), in order to avoid system down due to fault of transmission of a broadcasting signal with a timing signal by the central station (10), the central station (10) comprises two portions (13, 14) positioned at different locations and a controller (15). When the first portion (13) detects fault of transmission of the broadcasting signal during the first portion (13) operates to communicate with the remote stations (12) under transmission of the broadcasting signal, the controller (15) is notified the fault and starts the second portion (14) in place of the first portion (13) so that the communication is maintained in the system without false. Those portions (13, 14) are assigned with ID numbers and can detect the fault by detecting operation of ID number.

  • Patent number: 4893348
Abstract: A power source control device in a car telephone mobile station system where an abnormal state detecting means installed within a body CPU supervises signals transmitted from a hand set CPU, and if abnormal state of the signal from the hand set CPU occurs caused by disconnection of a hand set or runaway of the hand set CPU, a power source control signal is inputted to a control terminal of a power source circuit so as to change the power source circuit from the ON-state into the OFF-state.

  • Patent number: 4887308
Abstract: An information storage and retrieval system is disclosed herein having a primary information storage for broadcast information that is selected and encoded for constant broadcast transmission. Such information may take the form of musical compositions including title, composer, artist data and the like. An emergency transmission network selectively transmits pre-set emergency information or data. A receiver is employed to receive both broadcast and emergency transmissions and decode the information for presentation on a visual display with emergency display superseding the broadcast display. A broadcast data hold and recall manual buttons are employed to store desired data in a memory and to subsequently recall such data at the command of the listener.

  • Patent number: 4881226
Abstract: A digital interface of an integrated subscriber line interface circuit is provided. The interface serves for the connection of a signal processor unit. Individual connections are used as signal inputs in signal entry operation of the interface, and as signal outputs in signal transmission operation. Other connections are used as signal inputs in both operating mode, but receive different signals in each operating mode. One group of connections includes two registers with respective associated decoders to enable switching from one to the other, so that the number of operating instructions that can be represented by means of binary signal value combinations applied to the connections is doubled.

  • Patent number: 4870702
Abstract: An adjustable, portable console sleeve for radios, for receiving and operating an automobile radio tuner. The console sleeve has a generally rectangular housing with a rectangular opening formed along one side for receiving and enclosing the radio tuner. At least one speaker is mounted within the generally rectangular housing, as well as a one battery and an antenna. A plurality of connectors are disposed within the rectangular opening of the housing, and coupled to the speakers, battery, and antenna. The connectors are aligned with the connectors of the automobile radio tuner and are mounted on a movable connector wall. The movable connector wall has its ends mounted to the side walls defining the opening of said housing and can be adjusted to accommodate the tuner.

  • Patent number: 4855996
Abstract: Modems, data service units, application modules and other data communication devices, installed in a common equipment cabinet, are interconnected by way of a time division multiplexed bus. Time slots assigned to the various devices recur at a number of regularly-spaced access periods across each time division multiplex frame. The rate at which the access periods occur and the total number of access periods that make up each frame are chosen in such a way as to accommodate a mix of devices having respective bus access rates wherein there is at least one pair of rates for which neither rate of the pair is a whole number multiple of the other. The process of allocating access periods to the time slots is carried out using a known lemma to identify linear Diophantine equation solutions.

  • Patent number: 4852080
Abstract: In the high-group passband filter of an analog front-end circuit for full-duplex communications, switches enable an all-pass filter, a high-pass filter, and a low-pass filter to be connected in the optimum series for different band assignments, thus improving S/N performance.
