  • Patent number: 5937574
Abstract: A system for providing a liquid to a plant or tree stand comprising a liquid reservoir connected via tubing to a liquid control assembly having a liquid level control section positioned on the lower end of an adjustable vertical section with straps for attachment to a tree. The liquid level control section comprises a lever arm/float assembly positioned within the tree stand for maintaining a predetermined liquid level within the tree stand. As the liquid in the tree stand is depleted the float drops and the opposite end of a float lever arm penetrates a channel raising a metal ball which permits liquid to enter the tree stand through the liquid level control assembly connected to the tubing from the reservoir. As the liquid rises in the tree stand, the float is forced upward causing the opposite end of the float lever to drop resulting in the metal ball lowering to seal the channel thereby stopping the liquid flow into the tree stand.

  • Patent number: 5911569
Abstract: The ice fishing hole cover and indicator generally includes a base having a pole engagement end which is adapted to hold a conventional ice fishing rod and reel. A cover end is positioned opposite to the pole engagement end which includes a catch. A trip latch is provided which is adapted for adjustable and releasable engagement to the catch. The trip latch is rotatably engaged to the cover indicator which, in turn, is pivotally engaged to the cover end of the base. A fishing line is engaged to the trip latch to release the indicator cover from the cover end for vertical positioning relative thereto upon the taking of the bait by a fish. The base and cover end are adapted to be placed over an ice fishing hole, preventing the freezing thereof during ice fishing activities. The indicator cover, upon release from the cover end, functions to advise a fisherman as to the existence of a fish on the fisherman's line.

  • Patent number: 5894695
Abstract: A tree watering device comprises a funnel having an aperture at one end coupled to an elongated tubing which extends horizontally for a predetermined distance and then downwardly into a tree stand which contains water for the base of a tree mounted therein. The hollow tubing includes an aperture in the wall thereof in the portion mounted within the stand and a C-shaped element protruding through the wall of the tubing opposite the aperture. The C-shaped element restricts the movement of a float between the legs which protrude through the wall. The aperture emits a gurgling sound when water is poured into the funnel until the water level rises causing the float to cover the hole causing the gurgling to cease and indicating that it is time to cease adding water.

  • Patent number: 5860247
Abstract: A multiple function hydroponics system consisting of three major components; a plant pot container, a reservoir container and a pumping chamber. The plant pot container has a drainage tube down into the reservoir, this drainage tube height is adjusted to determine the upper level that the liquid can reach within the plant pot container. For a ebb and flow type operation of the assembly there is a siphon tubes from the bottom of the plant pot container back into the pumping chamber to drain the plant pot container each cycle. For top down watering or a drip system a watering tube assembly is installed so that each plant has an fluid outlet opening. The liquid pumping chamber, which contains a cycling container, is connected to the bottom of the reservoir with tubing and a one way valve allowing liquid to enter. When in the top down watering mode, the height of the drainage tube within the plant pot container is lowered so as to allow complete drainage back into the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5842307
Abstract: An automatic spot weed sprayer which is self-adjusting in the vertical to compensate for changes in crop height as the device moves along a row of crop. In a preferred embodiment, the invention is secured to the tool bar of a tractor which also carries a series of cultivators for removing weeds between crop rows. A photoelectric sensor passes down each row, just above the crop, to detect weeds which typically grow faster and therefore higher than the crop itself. When the beam is broken by a weed, a signal is sent to a Programmable Logic Computer (PLC) which then triggers a spray nozzle to dispense herbicide by a time delay based on the speed of the tractor. Concurrently, two sets of vertically spaced photoelectric sensors continually monitor crop height and signal the PLC to raise and lower the spray bar to compensate for crop height changes as the sprayer travels about the field.
