Abstract: A method for the treatment of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) by administering a therapeutically effective dose of vitamin D to an individual manifesting symptoms of PMS. In a case control study of 46 women (26 with PMS and 20 asymptomatic controls) women exhibiting PMS symptomatology had noticeably lower vitamin D levels than the women who were asymptomatic controls.
Abstract: A method of preventing an impairment of vision induced by ophthalmic surgery or improving the vision impaired by ophthalmic surgery of a warm-blooded animal is provided which comprises administering either a prophylactically effective or a therapeutically effective amount of diflunisal either systemically or topically to the animal. An optional maintenance effective amount of diflunisal may be subsequently administered. A topical dosage unit form of diflunisal is also provided.
Abstract: Antimicrobial mixtures containing quaternary ammonium compounds and iodopropynyloxy ethanol carbamate compounds in a ratio by weight of 0.3:1 to 9:1.

Abstract: Novel peptide mimetic compounds are provided which have useful activity as inhibitors of platelet aggregation. These compounds have the chemical structure ##STR1## wherein x=6 to 10,y=0 to 4,Z=H, COOH, CONH.sub.2 or C.sub.1-6 alkyl,Ar=phenyl, biphenyl or napthyl, each substituted with 1 to 3 methoxy groups, or an unsubstituted phenyl, biphenyl, napthyl, pyridyl or thienyl group, andAsp=aspartic acid residue.
