  • Patent number: 9383198
Abstract: A method reduces errors in a turning device during a determination of coordinates of a work piece or during machining of the work piece. The turning device allows a rotational movement of the work piece about a rotation axis of the turning device. The method includes measuring errors in the turning device on account of deviations between actual positions and actual orientations of the rotation axis, on the one hand, and corresponding ideal positions and ideal orientations of the rotation axis, on the other hand, in a range of rotation angles. Expected error values of the turning device are determined from error measurements and are used to correct the turning device.

  • Patent number: 9381610
Abstract: A gauge sets a height of a lathe cutter to a spindle axis. The gauge comprises an adjustable housing and a level vial, a longitudinal positioning of the level vial to be perpendicular to the spindle axis. A bubble in the level vial is longitudinally centered therein and the adjustable housing is fixed in place relative to the gauge. A chamfered notch in the gauge is slidable along a length of a shaft positioned in the spindle thereof. Flexible prongs secure the level vial relative to the adjustable housing. One of a set screw, a clamp and rubber bands secure the level vial relative to the adjustable housing. A receptacle in the gauge receives a shaft positioned in the spindle and enables laterally adjusting the gauge on a length of the shaft until the contact face of the gauge is laterally aligned with the tip of the lathe cutter.

  • Patent number: 9372060
Abstract: A socket and wrench gauge provides for the portable and precise measurement of the dimension of a bolt or nut across the flats thereof, in order to determine the precise size of the socket or wrench required for use therewith. The socket and wrench gauge consists of two parallel jaws with gripping points, with the first jaw and gripping point extending laterally from an elongated slide scale and the opposite jaw and gripping point extending laterally from an elongated body receiver and raceway through which the slide scale operates. The scale consists of two linear rows of dimensional numbers thereon, with each of the numbers corresponding to a distance between the two jaws and gripping points. The numbers are placed longitudinally along the face of the scale for simplicity and greater legibility.

  • Patent number: 9364779
Abstract: The method and equipment relates to the measurement of deflections of filter sectors in a disc filter. The filter discs in the disc filter are constituted by a number of filter sectors, and the distance between a position fixed relative to the filter, most commonly the scraper itself, and the filter surface is conventionally measured by manual measurement methods. The equipment is instead used that has a measuring head with a quick-release coupling for its mounting fixed in the filter, and a position sensor in the measuring head that measures the distance between the measurement arrangement and the surface of the filter disc in order to form momentary measurement results. The momentary measurement results are transferred by a data transfer link from the measurement arrangement to a data collection unit PC that has a memory.

  • Patent number: 9366522
Abstract: Stylus head displacer displaces a stylus head on a first measurement path. A path definer defines the first measurement path. A displacement controller controls the stylus head displacer such that the stylus head displaces along the first measurement path. A position detector detects a position of the stylus head. A depression amount detector detects the depression amount of the stylus head. A measurement results memory stores the position and amount of depression of the stylus head. The depression amount detector outputs an error signal when detecting a measurement error. The displacement controller stops displacement of the stylus head in response to the error signal and displaces the stylus head to a starting point of the first measurement path, and controls the stylus head displacer such that the stylus head is displaced from the starting point to an end point of the first measurement path with a fixed depression amount.
