  • Patent number: 4304065
Abstract: A walking hand puppet in the figure of a walking or crawling land or sea animal, bird, insect or the like, comprising a body with finger-insertable appendages, and a non-functional glove on the body, said glove having a passage formed therein through which a hand is insertable to insert the fingers into the appendages and to manipulate them in simulation of walking or crawling. The presence of the glove creates the optical illusion that the hand is received and held therein, which raises the question of how the appendages are manipulated.

  • Patent number: 4282891
Abstract: A device for use in treating fingernails with a liquid, such as a nail polish remover. The device comprises a flat-bottomed, cylindrical container having an open top normally closed by a cover. A cylindrical sponge is press-fitted into the container to be frictionally held in place. A finger hole is provided in the sponge. Treatment liquid is poured into the container to be absorbed by the sponge to a level where it can act on the end of a finger inserted into the hole. The finger fits snugly in the hole and is rotated or oscillated therein to assist the treatment.

  • Patent number: 3939851
Abstract: This invention pertains to a hair curler having a roller rotatably mounted on end supports whose base portions are adapted to rest on the head of the user. Each end support operates independently of the other and one or both includes a self-contained securing tension mechanism in the form of a ratchet device. This ratchet device in no way restricts the winding of hair around the roller portion of the curler assembly. After a section of hair has been wound around the roller, the base of the rotatable end support is positioned on the head and the roller remains in this condition with the end support sustaining the curler while retaining the hair wound thereon until the desired drying, styling or curling effect of the hair has been achieved. The base of the end support is constructed in such a proportioned manner that the support retains and restricts movement of the hair roller from the prescribed and seated position on the user's head.
