    Abstract: A float support includes a guide sleeve extending upwardly from a dishwasher chamber sump for slidable reception of a float stem. The support includes a hollow standpipe having an upper portion, partially defined by an external wall of the guide sleeve along part of its axial height, and a lower portion extending down through the sump in an offset manner. The inverted cuplike float includes a plurality of cavities at least one of which is adapted to entrap air to provide buoyance to the float. A remaining one of the cavities defines a combined float damping and overflow cavity which conceals the upper portion of the hollow standpipe such that the standpipe establishes an air break path between the overflow cavity and atmosphere thereby damping the vertical travel of the float.

    Abstract: The diaphragm valve has a valve body portion with a chamber therein. The chamber has an open top portion and an inlet and outlet communicating therewith. The valve body has a valve seat in the chamber. The valve member is positioned in overlying relation with the valve seat and is arranged to control the flow of fluid through the chamber. A yoke member connected to the valve body within the upper portion of the valve chamber has an axial passageway therethrough. A bonnet having a passageway therethrough is coaxially aligned within the yoke member. A valve stem is arranged for reciprocal movement within the yoke member and bonnet passageway. A diaphragm assembly is positioned within the valve chamber between the valve stem and the valve member. A spring urges the valve member upwardly against the underside of the diaphragm assembly to open the valve. A packing ring surrounds the valve stem and is positioned within an annular recessed portion of the bonnet passageway.

    Abstract: A cartridge type check valve which may be either pilot operated or of the free flow type. The pilot operated type includes in combination a generally cylindrically-shaped housing having first and second end portions and having internal wall means defining an opening extending axially therethrough. A valve seat is formed on the internal wall means and a valve member is movable into and out of engagement with the valve seat to selectively prohibit and permit fluid flow through the axially extending opening at the valve seat. A fluid port is provided in the first end portion of the housing and serves to provide for fluid entrance into the axially extending opening. A control piston is positioned in the second end portion of the housing and is movable between first and second positions as is a valve stem, which is connected to the valve member and extends axially to a position adjacent the control piston and is adapted to be engaged and moved by the control piston.

    Abstract: An automatic vent valve for pneumatic control systems of compressors or the like allows a compressor to be shut down when the level of liquid in an associated gas scrubber reaches a certain level. The device is also applicable to pressure vessels, boilers or similar devices requiring level control. A pneumatic vent valve responds to float movement through a simplified direct-acting mechanism having a sealed shaft between the float and vent chambers.
