  • Patent number: 9610608
Abstract: The embodiments disclosed herein include all-electron control over a chemical attachment and the subsequent self-assembly of an organic molecule into a well-ordered three-dimensional monolayer on a metal surface. The ordering or assembly of the organic molecule may be through electron excitation. Hot-electron and hot-hole excitation enables tethering of the organic molecule to a metal substrate, such as an alkyne group to a gold surface. All-electron reactions may allow a direct control over the size and shape of the self-assembly, defect structures and the reverse process of molecular disassembly from single molecular level to mesoscopic scale.

  • Patent number: 9594301
Abstract: An imprint apparatus that transfers a pattern formed on a mold onto a resin on a substrate. A light irradiation unit irradiates the resin with light to cure the resin. A shape correction mechanism applies a force to the mold to deform a pattern region formed on the mold. A heating mechanism heats a substrate-side pattern region formed on the substrate to deform the substrate-side pattern region. A control unit obtains information regarding a difference between shapes of the pattern region formed on the mold and the substrate-side pattern region and controls the shape correction mechanism and the heating mechanism so as to reduce the difference between the shapes of the pattern region formed on the mold and the substrate-side pattern region based on the obtained information. The control unit controls a temperature distribution in the substrate-side pattern region by using the heating mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9566755
Abstract: Provided is a method for producing a foamed synthetic resin molded body. In this method, in the case where a hole-like portion is a through hole, when foam molding is performed, the occurrence of molding defects such as voids at the periphery of the hole-like portion can be sufficiently prevented or suppressed without forming a burr portion that closes the hole-like portion. Also in this method, in the case where the hole-like portion is a non-through hole, the occurrence of molding defects such as voids at a bottom portion of the hole-like portion can be sufficiently prevented or suppressed.

  • Patent number: 9567406
Abstract: A method for obtaining an elongate polysaccharide element, in particular a chitosan thread, includes extruding a hydroalcoholic extrusible solution containing a polyalcohol of said polysaccharide through an extrusion die, coagulating the extruded solution by neutralization, and at least one operation of removing the polyalcohol. The ratio of water to polyalcohol in the extrusible solution is determined such as to obtain in the elongate element a polysaccharide with the crystalline structure thereof mainly in the form of an anhydrous allomorph. Since the polysaccharide used to prepare the extrusible solution has a weight-average molar mass Mw0, the polysaccharide in the elongate element obtained preferably has a weight-average molar mass Mw1 comprised between Mw0 and 0.7 Mw0. Since the purpose is to obtain a chitosan thread, the latter has properties of mechanical strength and flexibility that allow the thread to be tied into overhand knots and to be woven without breaking.
