    Abstract: A fuel transfer system for moving nuclear reactor fuel assemblies from a new fuel storage pit to a containment area containing the nuclear reactor, and for transferring spent fuel assemblies under water from the reactor to a spent fuel storage area. The system includes an underwater track which extends through a wall dividing the fuel building from the reactor containment and a car on the track serves as the vehicle for moving fuel assemblies between these two areas. The car is driven by a motor and linkage extending from an operating deck to a chain belt drive on the car. A housing pivotally mounted at its center on the car is hydraulically actuated to vertically receive a fuel assembly which then is rotated to a horizontal position to permit movement through the wall between the containment and fuel building areas. Return to the vertical position provides for fuel assembly removal and the reverse process is repeated when transferring an assembly in the opposite direction.

Each end of said transverse shaft is connected to first and second members, respectively, rigid with said side wall, and further comprises a first connecting means for said first member and a second connecting means for said second member, control means for rotating said shaft and thus produce the relative movement between said first and second connecting means, said second connecting means being mounted for rotation and translation in relation to said second member.

    Abstract: A water collecting device for the side window of a vehicle comprises an impervious channel formed by the combination of an outer edge of a side door, an adjacent windshield column and a sealing member positioned in the space between the side door and the column. The channel is capable of intercepting water, when water is flowing from the front windshield of the vehicle towards the side window, and transferring the water downward by gravity away from the side window. An outlet is included at the lower end of the channel for discharging the water remotely from the side window.

    Abstract: A vehicular transportation system and apparatus therefor is disclosed herein wherein small electrically driven passenger vehicles are carried as a group in a transporter or carrier vehicle. Extendable ramps are carried on the transporter vehicle which may be deployed from either end of the vehicle body for loading and unloading the passenger vehicles along a pair of parallel storage decks. Locking mechanism selectively secures each passenger vehicle in a storage space on the transporter vehicle while a separate conduit system for conducting conditioned air to the stored passenger vehicle is provided between the roof of the passenger vehicle and the transporter vehicle body. The transporter vehicle and electrically driven passenger vehicles are adapted to operate as a combined unit, substantially reducing fuel consumption, air pollution, and congestion, or independently as separate elements, on traffic arteries such as highways or expressways or surface streets.
