  • Patent number: 5052201
Abstract: An automobile steering wheel lock comprising a recheted stick with a hooked end and a lock block with a stick hole to receive the stick therein and have itself slidable along the stick. The lock block comprises a pawl which is biased by a spring to engage the ratchet of the stick so that when the hook of stick is hooked on a spoke of a steering wheel, the lock block is movable toward the hooked end of stick to secure it on the steering wheel and not able to withdraw, owing to the engagement of the pawl with the ratchet. A de-engaging device is provided to release the engagement of the pawl with the ratchet so as to remove the lock off the steering wheel.

  • Patent number: 5052651
Abstract: A security fastener for helping to prevent the unauthorized removal of table top equipment, such as a personal computer, from its supporting surface, includes a base frame, which receives the equipment to be protected. A double-sided adhesive tape secured to the underside of the base frame affixes the frame to the a supporting surface. A bar moves between an opened and a closed position to permit the equipment to be removed from, and installed within the device. An inventive lock assembly is disposed within the base frame and fastens the bar in its closed locking position to secure the bar in place. The base frame is fastened together by connecting pins to enable the security fastener to be assembled in a convenient manner, and the lock assembly is similar in its external appearance to the connecting pins for concealing the locking assembly from view and for providing the fastener with an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

  • Patent number: 5050412
Abstract: The cylinder lock comprises a plug and auxiliary pins which are disposed in seats, provided on the plugs and arranged laterally to the channel of introduction of the key. On introducing the key into the lock the pins are displaced from their seats such that, when the key is not the right one, they will engage into recesses on the outer casing of the lock, thus inhibiting rotation of the plug. By intervening on the pins it is also possible to obtain a set of hierarchically different locks for fabricating master key systems.

  • Patent number: 5046340
Abstract: Flush mountable latches and locks for industrial cabinets, tool carts, electrical equipment enclosures and the like utilize versatile housings together with a variety of types of handles that are movable relative to the housings to effect unlatching movements of spring-biased, pivotally mounted latch bolts, with pivotally mounted operating arms serving to drivingly interconnect the handles with the latch bolts. Lockable embodiments have locking mechanisms that prevent operating movements of the operating arms, but do not prevent pivotal movement of the latch bolts out of their latched positions, whereby even the lockable embodiments have latch bolts that can be "slammed" into latching engagement with suitably configured strike formations.

  • Patent number: 5046695
Abstract: A device which is externally fitted to a rod-like object has an inner tubular member and an external, rigid tubular member. Each tubular member has a longitudinally extending opening through which the rod-like object can be inserted. The internal tubular member has a conically narrowing outer peripheral surface and an inner surface whose shape approximately corresponds to the peripheral surface of the rod-like object. The external tubular member has a conically shaped inner surface corresponding to the outer surface of the internal tubular member. By axially displacing the inner and outer tubular members, the device will be firmly clamped onto the rod-like object. The device can be used to clamp cloth or fabric to a tubular stand or frame structure. Also suspension devices and connecting devices such as hooks and legs can be attached on the device.

  • Patent number: 5046768
Abstract: A latch mechanism for a vehicle closure panel hingedly mounts to a vehicle body panel and latches the closure panel in a closed position. A striker post is rotatably connected to one panel. A handle is mounted to the striker post and allows the striker post to be manually rotated, when the handle extends outwardly in an extended position. A striker guide is mounted on the other panel and has an open ended slot therein engaged by the striker post upon closing movement of the closure panel. The slot is angularly disposed to rotate the striker post from the extended position upon movement of the closure panel toward the closed position. A primary latch engages the striker post to hold the closure panel in the closed position and is releasable to allow movement of the closure panel from the closed position toward an opened position. A pop-up spring moves the closure panel from the closed position toward the open position so that the slot rotates the striker post toward the extended position.

  • Patent number: 5044678
Abstract: A remotely actuated solenoid latch apparatus adapted for use in motor vehicle applications is disclosed. The solenoid latch apparatus includes a solenoid having an armature movable between a first position displaced from a pole piece to define a working air gap therebetween to a second position attracted toward the pole piece. A solenoid winding encircles the pole piece and the armature for attracting the armature toward the pole piece upon energization thereof. A latch member is associated with the movable armature for lockingly engaging a striker bar when the armature is in one position and releasably disengaging the striker bar when the armature is in the other position. The present invention is self-compensating to align the latch member relative to the striker bar, prior to engagement therewith, to compensate for alignment variation between the latch member and the striker bar.

  • Patent number: 5044184
Abstract: The profiled cylinder (38) seated in an insertion opening (87) of the lock housing (7) is guided by a retaining bracket (93) and fixed centrally by a detent pin (121) on the retaining bracket (93). The detent pin (121) is guided displaceably on a slide piece (103) and initially stressed by a spring (131) towards the profiled cylinder (38). The profiled cylinder (38) contains a reading device for en electronic key, which device is connected through a plug-in connection (89) with an electronic circuit of the lock. The plug-in connection (89) and the detent pin (121) are so adapted to one another that the detent pin (121) firstly fixes the profiled cylinder (38) on the pedestal (93) before the slide piece (103) guided in centered manner in relation to the pedestal (93) closes the plug-in connection (89). In this way defects of alignment of the plug-in connection (89) and damage to its contact elements (107, 109 ) are avoided.

  • Patent number: 5042854
Abstract: A latch assembly includes a latch that can reciprocatingly move between an extended, latching position and a retracted, unlatching position. A latch-guiding lever having a recessed slot extends into a transverse hole in the latch. A plug member under the elastic force of a spring is urged into the recessed slot, thereby preventing any loosening or slipping-off of the latch-guiding lever from the latch. A pull element may be provided to separate the plug member from the latch-guiding lever to thereby enable disassembly of the latch assembly.
