Abstract: An electrical contact formed from a plurality of interlaced and annealed wires by weaving or braiding the wires together to form a mesh, annealing the mesh, and cutting the annealed mesh so as to form a plurality of individual electrical contacts. A method for forming a precursor material for use in manufacturing an electrical contact is also provided that includes manipulating a plurality of wires so as to interlace the wires into a unitary structure. The unitary structure is then annealed. An electrical contact may then be formed from the precursor material by elastically rolling a portion of the unitary structure so as to form a tube, annealing the tube, and then cutting the unitary structure so as to release the tube thereby to form an electrical contact.
Abstract: Each of a banana pin connector plug, a rolled sheet metal connector plug and a Bovie connector plug are electrically and mechanically connected an electrosurgical generator with a single adapter-less multi-plug connector device. These three connector plugs are prevalently used to connect foot-switched monopolar electrosurgical handpieces to the generator. A socket is moved into a position to connect to the banana pin connector plug, and the socket is moved out of position to permit a contact arm to move into contact with the rolled sheet metal connector plug and the Bovie connector plug.
Abstract: An electrical connector (1) includes an elongate insulative housing (12) defining a number of cavities (22) in a longitudinal direction (X) thereof, a number of groups of contacts (12) respectively received in corresponding individual cavities of the housing. The groups of contacts are arranged in two rows in a traverse direction (Y) of the housing. Each group of contacts includes at least two conductive contacts gathered side by side in the corresponding individual cavity in the X direction. The contacts each are such stamped and assembled to the housing that its dimension (T) in the X direction is much less than its dimension (W) in the Y direction, which reduces its occupied room in the housing in the X direction without reducing its strength.
Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a shielding plate attached to the housing. The housing includes a pair of locking arms extending from opposite ends thereof substantially along a direction along which the shielding plate is attached to the housing. The shielding plate includes opposite side portions engaging with the locking arms of the housing. Each locking arm of the housing has a protrusion. Each side portion of the shielding plate defines an opening engagingly receiving the protrusion of the locking arm therein.
