  • Patent number: 10242256
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and a scanner for verifying the authenticity of identity documents. The scanner comprises a slot for receiving the identity document, at least one light source and a camera or acquiring images. The method detects, by means of the camera, the presence of the identity document in the slot of the scanner and acquires three different images of the identity document when it is illuminated with white light, UV light and IR light respectively. The images are encrypted and sent to an analyze server which in response to a request returns a second message comprising a verification report including textual information extracted from the identity document. The scanner sends a first signal to an indicating means for indicating the state of the authenticity of the identity document and the textual information to a Point of Sale, POS, system in response to that the identity document has been verified.

  • Patent number: 10238359
Abstract: There is provided with an imaging control apparatus. A reception unit receives an imaging order. A control unit permits adding identification information if the received imaging order includes no identification information and to inhibit correction of the identification information upon determining that the identification information is included in the imaging order. An obtaining unit obtains information to be added as the identification information if the identification information is not included in the imaging order. A transmission unit transmits an image captured in accordance with the imaging order and either the obtained identification information or the identification information included in the imaging order, in association with each other, to an external image archiving apparatus.

  • Patent number: 10229349
Abstract: A camera system captures images from a set of cameras to generate binocular panoramic views of an environment. The cameras are oriented in the camera system to maximize the minimum number of cameras viewing a set of randomized test points. To calibrate the system, matching features between images are identified and used to estimate three-dimensional points external to the camera system. Calibration parameters are modified to improve the three-dimensional point estimates. When images are captured, a pipeline generates a depth map for each camera using reprojected views from adjacent cameras and an image pyramid that includes individual pixel depth refinement and filtering between levels of the pyramid. The images may be used generate views of the environment from different perspectives (relative to the image capture location) by generating depth surfaces corresponding to the depth maps and blending the depth surfaces.

  • Patent number: 10210431
Abstract: In the image processing device, the image processing method and the recording medium, the image analyzer carries out image analysis on an image. The tag information assignor assigns the image with tag information corresponding to objects present in the image based on the result of the image analysis. The first assignment ratio calculator calculates an assignment ratio of common tag information assigned to images owned by users as the first assignment ratio. The second assignment ratio calculator calculates an assignment ratio of the common tag information assigned to images owned by each user as the second assignment ratio. And the tag ranking determiner ranks the common tag information assigned to images owned by the user based on the difference between the first assignment ratio and the second assignment ratio of the common tag information.

  • Patent number: 10201281
Abstract: In medical imaging, a fiducial marker facilitates tissue image correlation that allows for image analysis, normalization and correction of the optical exposure and spectral and spatial distribution in order to compensate for the surface reflections, sub surface tissue interactions and spatial orientation of the excitation and imaging axes to the subject tissue. Using a cross comparison, clinicians can model tissue image data in different forms in order to reference and compare data from various spectral components and or from different images. This may enhance human interpretation between images including the variations between images even when the spectral, spatial and optical conditions or the image resolution or sensitivity are compromised. Such may be used to assess cosmetic, moisturizing, therapeutic materials and treatments.

  • Patent number: 10204428
Abstract: According to one or more aspects of the disclosed subject matter, reconstructing 3D radio frequency tomographic images can include detecting a plurality of frequencies of a target and generating a low resolution image for each frequency. Additionally, a high frequency low resolution image can be selected from the plurality of low resolution images to be a reference image. Further, pixel values of the reference image can be obtained and the pixel values of the reference image can be compared to each of the plurality of low resolution images. The method can also include determining new features in each of the low resolution images based on the comparisons, generating a high resolution grid based on the new features determined by the comparisons, wherein the high resolution grid is generated using interpolation, performing deconvolution of the high resolution grid using a Wiener filter, and outputting a high resolution image.

  • Patent number: 10198801
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for image enhancement using self-examples in combination with external examples. In one embodiment, an image manipulation application receives an input image patch of an input image. The image manipulation application determines a first weight for an enhancement operation using self-examples and a second weight for an enhancement operation using external examples. The image manipulation application generates a first interim output image patch by applying the enhancement operation using self-examples to the input image patch and a second interim output image patch by applying the enhancement operation using external examples to the input image patch. The image manipulation application generates an output image patch by combining the first and second interim output image patches as modified using the first and second weights.

  • Patent number: 10169858
Abstract: A system, device, and method for inspecting the cosmetic and operational features of electronic devices, including computing and telecommunications devices. The cosmetic inspection system includes an image capture unit for capturing the images of the electronic devices, and a user interface for processing the captured images and providing relevant information to the user of the system. Images of the external components such as external casing materials or touch screens of electronic devices are captured and the cosmetic inspection system uses baseline images to make determinations to identify defective components of the electronic devices. Based on these determinations, the system may conclude which, if any, replacement components of the devices are needed to restore the electronic device. In one embodiment, a user of the system may then be provided with information through a user interface about defective components and options for ordering replacement components.

  • Patent number: 10136103
Abstract: Systems and methods identify consumer products in images. Known consumer products are captured as grayscale or color images. They are converted to binary at varying thresholds. Connected components in the binary images identify image features according to pixels of a predetermined size, shape, solidity, aspect ratio, and the like. The image features are stored and searched for amongst image features similarly extracted from unknown images of consumer products. Identifying correspondence between the features of the images lends itself to identifying or not known consumer products.

  • Patent number: 10068321
Abstract: When a human skin region is detected, misdetection or detection failure is prevented. An image processing apparatus of the present invention acquires an image from which a human body skin region is to be extracted, and estimates a human body part region in the image. The image processing apparatus then estimates a skin attribute of the estimated human body part region and corrects the human body part region based on the estimated skin attribute. The image processing apparatus extracts the skin region from the acquired image based on the skin attribute of the estimated human body part region and the corrected human body part region.

  • Patent number: 10062007
Abstract: An apparatus stores a plurality of partial programs, which are constituent elements of an image recognizing program that detects a position of a template image on an input image. The apparatus creates a plurality of individual programs each being a combination of at least two of the plurality of partial programs, and calculates a similarity map that associates similarity with the template image with each pixel of the input image by using each of the plurality of individual programs. The apparatus calculates fitness for each of the plurality of individual programs, based on a distribution of the similarity map, selects an individual program for which the fitness is equal to or greater than a prescribed threshold, from among the plurality of individual programs, and outputs the selected individual program as the image recognizing program.
