  • Patent number: 8757579
Abstract: An assembly for connecting a first body to a second body includes a first element having a connection end to the first body and a first tubular portion, and a second element having a connection end to the second body and a second tubular portion extending along the longitudinal axis. The first tubular portion and the second tubular portion are interlocked by at least one complementary tubular portion nested in the first tubular portion and around the second tubular portion. A rigid piece connects the first body to the second body and is fastened to the first and second bodies. One of the first and second bodies is connected with functional play at one of the two attachment points of the rigid connecting piece, wherein the rigid connecting piece is formed of two flat rigid pieces extending on both sides of the first and second elements along the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 8746613
Abstract: A first trailing edge portion of a scarfed jet engine exhaust nozzle aft of a second trailing edge portion relative to a central axis of an associated exhaust duct causes an automatic nozzle-pressure-ratio responsive transverse deflection of the associated exhaust flow away from the first trailing edge portion. When offset from both the center of gravity (CG) and the central longitudinal axis of an aircraft, at a relatively low nozzle pressure ratio, e.g. during takeoff, the thrust vector from the exhaust flow acts relatively close to the CG, whereas at a relatively high nozzle pressure ratio, e.g. during relatively high-speed cruise, the scarfed exhaust nozzle deflects the exhaust flow so that the resulting thrust vector is relatively parallel to the path of the aircraft. With the final portion of the exhaust duct skewed, the primary axis of the jet engine can be relatively parallel to the path of the aircraft.

  • Patent number: 8714114
Abstract: A leash assembly includes a belt and at least one connector piece coupled to the belt. The belt can be worn by a subject around the torso, shoulders, neck or wrist. Each connector piece is configured to move along at least a portion of the belt. In some embodiments, the connector piece is a link configured to be receive the belt and to move along the belt. Alternatively, the belt has one or more tracks, in which the connector piece is configured to travel on thereby allowing the connector to travel along the belt. Each connector piece is coupled with a leash. In some embodiments, the leash has a retractable end. The leash assembly can include adornments and/or a carrier coupled to the belt.

  • Patent number: 8701334
Abstract: The foot snare triggering device of the present invention is designed to be used with a foot snare, and comprises a trigger plate assembly, having a tension adjustment means which allows the trigger plate assembly to pivotally yield to vertical pressure. A trigger mechanism has a trigger end set within said plate assembly and a mechanism end attached to an extension mechanism, and a snare attachment port located within the trigger mechanism for releasably securing a foot snare by moving longitudinally when the trigger mechanism is engaged by pressure to said plate assembly allowing a foot snare to be released from the snare attachment port after triggering said device. A pan is pivotally connected by a hinge to the plate underside distal to the pan tension adjustment means. The pan has a trigger mount located adjacent to the trigger assembly connection through which the trigger mount engagingly receives the trigger mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8656634
Abstract: A sinker or float that releasably clamps around a line, such as a fishing line, including two members shaped to define a channel for the line when in a closed position. A locking means is provided to releasably lock the two members in the closed position. Each of the members has at least a portion of high or low density material to provide a sinking or floating effect. A jacket may be provided that retains the high or low density material therein. The jacket may also include a hinge portion such that the two members can be hingedly opened and closed.

  • Patent number: 8646204
Abstract: A capture cage includes a cage structure with a cage door, a pedal pivotally connected in the cage structure, a rotation member moving with the pedal, a suppression member located adjacent to an operation rod, and an induction lever pivotally connected to a top face of the cage structure. When the cage door is open, an inducible member of the cage door is confined by the inductive lever; the induction lever is restrained by the suppression member and is located adjacent to a head portion of the operation rod; and the pedal is suspended when the rotation member is supported by the operation rod. When the pedal is tilted, the rotation member separates from the operation rod; the head portion of the operation rod pushes the induction lever away from the suppression member and the operation rod moves downwardly; and the inducible member is released and the cage door closes.

  • Patent number: 8418961
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for supporting a door which is pivotably received in a fuselage airframe of an aircraft, with a counter bearing arranged in the region of a doorframe and a thrust bearing located opposite in the region of the door. According to the invention, the counter bearing has a planar counter bearing surface and the thrust bearing has a mounting in which a planar thrust bearing surface which can tilt about at least one spatial axis is received, the counter bearing surface lying against the thrust bearing surface at least in some regions when the door is closed. Because of the thrust bearing surface which can be tilted in at least one spatial direction, the counter bearing always lies against the thrust bearing over the entire surface areas thereof, irrespective of any manufacturing tolerance deviations between the doorframe and the door or the bearing on the fuselage airframe, in such a way that optimal force transfer is ensured.
