  • Patent number: 10033856
Abstract: A method of determining health or quality of providing network services by a wireless communication network and retaining subscribers on the wireless network by a wireless communication network that uses counters within an application server. A number of users at a first point in time is determined by the counters. A number of initial registrations and a number of refresh registrations is also determined by the counters. Based upon the counting, an initial registration rate and a refresh registration rate is determined for a time interval. The initial registration rate and the refresh registration rate are evaluated to determine the health of providing network services by the wireless communication network.

  • Patent number: 10034129
Abstract: Techniques for providing proximity based messages are discussed herein. Some embodiments may include one or more servers configured to receive proximity message requests from a consumer device. The requests may include consumer device locations, which may be used by the one or more servers to generate a geofence set. Furthermore, the consumer device location may be used as a basis for selecting notification data relevant to the location. Both the geofence set and the notification data may be sent to the consumer device in a single proximity message response for local notification creation if the notification data can be collected within a maximum response time. The notification data may be provided via a push notification server asynchronously if the notification data cannot be collected within the maximum response time.

  • Patent number: 10015635
Abstract: A location of a target associated with a first system is determined at the first system at a first time. A signal is constructed at the first system where the data of the signal includes a unique identifier, an identifier indicative of a collision avoidance nature of the signal, and the location of the target. The signal is broadcast from the first system. the broadcasting causes a second system to receive the signal; compute a likelihood of a collision between the first system and the second system using the location from the signal, a velocity of the first system, a location of the second system at the first time, and a velocity of the second system at the first time; and send a notification from the second system about the likelihood of collision when the likelihood of collision exceeding a threshold likelihood.

  • Patent number: 9992750
Abstract: Methods and apparatus related to the sharing of wide area network (WAN) downlink bandwidth with peer to peer communication signaling usage are described. A WAN, e.g., cellular, wireless communications device using a base station attachment point, transmits a signal to be used by a peer to peer wireless communications device for controlling its peer to peer transmit power level. The peer to peer wireless communications device receives and measures the strength of the power control signal from the WAN wireless communications device. The measurement information is used by the peer to peer wireless communications device in determining whether or not peer to peer signal transmission is permitted and/or in determining a peer to peer transmission power level. Thus the WAN device is able to manage interference from the peer to peer devices in its vicinity which impacts its recovery of WAN base station downlink signals.
