  • Patent number: 4136792
Abstract: A quick attachment device for a tractor which has lift arms for supporting an implement, such as a loader bucket, lift fork, or the like. The rear side of the implement has two spaced-apart attaching portions in the form of hooks faced toward each other, and an attachment plate is held by the tractor lift arms and the lower edge is first positioned into the lower implement hook and then the plate is slid upwardly until the upper edge is engaged in the implement upper hook. A spring-loaded pin then automatically falls into a hole in the implement to secure the plate relative to the implement and thus attach the implement and plate together. A release cam is attached to the pin for withdrawing the pin and the attachment plate can then be manuevered out of the implement hooks to be removed from the implement when release is desired.

Abstract: The invention provides a unitary tilting container assembly of the portable type adapted to be mounted and demounted on a truck, which includes, in combination, a T-shaped bracing structure adapted to be bolted to the truck, there being hinged, at a first pivot axis, to the bar of the T a box-like load bearing tilting container. There is a hydraulic ram pivotally connected on the one hand, at a second pivot axis, to the end of the leg of the T-shaped bracing structure and, at a third pivot axis, to a trunnion carried on the underside of the container. The ram is extensible and pivotal about the second pivot axis from a closed position in which the floor of the container is alongside and substantially parallel to the leg of the T-shaped bracing structure to an open position of the ram in which the floor of the container is inclined to the leg of the T-shaped bracing structure by an angle of at least 25.degree.. All said first, second and third pivot axes are substantially parallel to one another.

  • Patent number: 4126233
Abstract: A tool transfer arm is pivotally mounted on a tool transfer housing which is movable between a tool storage magazine and the spindle of a machine tool to transfer tools between the tool storage magazine and the spindle. The tool transfer arm has two pair of toolholder jaws, one pair on each end thereof. One toolholder jaw of each pair is movable and the other jaw is fixed. Each movable jaw is pivotable between an open and closed position by a clamp arm which is pivotally connected to the corresponding movable jaw and slidably engages an arcuate guide slot in the tool transfer arm. A cylindrical abutment on the spindle head near the spindle and on the tool storage magazine bears against the adjacent clamp arm when the tool transfer arm approaches either the tool storage magazine or the spindle in one angular orientation to close the corresponding movable jaw and clamp a toolholder in the jaws for removal from the tool storage magazine or spindle.

  • Patent number: 4119219
Abstract: The edges of the upper portion of a stack of sheets are driven horizontally into the high friction periphery of a rotating roll which raises the edge portions from the stack in succession. The rotating roll is then pivoted about an external axis until it is supportingly disposed under the raised batch. A second roll or roller is then lowered onto the batch so that the raised edge portion is confined between it and the lower rotating roll. A nip is thereby formed and the entire batch of sheets is then driven therethrough for use downstream.

Abstract: A bar stock feeding apparatus for an automatic lathe, comprising a tube for guiding the bar stock. A piston is situated in the tube behind the bar stock for pushing it towards the headstock of the lathe, the piston itself being urged towards the headstock by means of oil pressure while part of the oil overtakes the piston by flowing through a clearance left between the piston and the inner wall of the tube and through an inner channel through the piston having an adjustable cross-section. Regulating means and non-return valve means are provided in the inner channel for rendering the piston retractable responsive to oil underpressure applied instead of the oil pressure.
