  • Patent number: 4066192
Abstract: A display form having two elongated, three-dimensionally contoured leg-and-hip simulating members for insertion in the legs of a pair of pants, with flexible crease-holding wires extending along the front and back edges of each member, the wires being adjustably mounted on the members to fill out the legs of the pants and hold them taut across the contour of the members. The members are identical moldings having sockets in their adjacent sides near their hip-simulating ends, and are rotatably joined together by a junction block having part-spherical surfaces fitting into the sockets. The members are releasably clamped against the junction block in different angular relations, and the form has mounting sockets in its opposite ends facilitating support of the form in either a normal position or an inverted position.

  • Patent number: 3967565
Abstract: A cloth feeding device for a sewing machine and a method of adjusting the differential ratio of feeding cloth, in any desired wide range, particularly, in an overlock sewing machine. There is disclosed herein a mechanism wherein a cloth feeding arm is engaged with a vertically feeding cam fixed to a main shaft and is further connected with an eccentric horizontally feeding cam. The feeding cam comprises a flanged cam member frictionally fixed to the main shaft and an internal surface cam externally fitting it through a link mechanism. The link mechanism comprises a horizontally feeding rocker arm and a horizontally feeding rod so that the horizontal feed of the cloth feeding arm may be simply and freely adjusted by varying the phase of the eccentric double cam with an operating piece which can be operated from outside the sewing machine frame.

  • Patent number: 3965532
Abstract: A hinge for pivotally connecting two components, the hinge being in the form of two pivotally inter-connected leaves and a casing, one leaf being arranged to be secured to one component and the casing being arranged to be secured to the other component. The casing provides a socket having opposed walls between which the other leaf can slide, one of the walls of the casing and the other leaf having complementary formations which interengage with a snap action to hold the other leaf in the socket and the one wall of the casing being arranged to lie between the other leaf and the other component when the hinge is in use.

  • Patent number: 3961733
Abstract: A device is disclosed for pressing articles of clothing, more particularly for pressing the body portions of shirts and work uniforms, wherein an inflatable, molded buck is mounted on a support, and the assembly is movable into a position between a pair of heated pressing plates. Movable supporting and spreading elements are attached to the support and located within the inflatable buck, the supporting and spreading elements being movable to ensure that the inflatable buck fully supports the article to be pressed in the area of the shoulders and side portions of the article. After the movable supporting and spreading elements are adjusted, the buck is inflated so as to ensure that all portions of the article to be pressed are, in fact, pressed by the heated pressing plates.
