Abstract: An inkjet recording element comprising a support having thereon in order, from top to bottom, an upper fusible, porous layer comprising fusible polymeric particles, which particles comprise a thermoplastic polymer with reactive functional groups, the inkjet recording element further comprising a lower crosslinker-containing layer in which a polyfunctional compound has complementary reactive functional groups capable of crosslinking the reactive functional groups on the thermoplastic polymer under fusing. Optionally, an ink-carrier-liquid receptive layer is present between the fusible, porous layer and the support. Also disclosed is a method of inkjet printing on the element.

Abstract: The optical information recording medium of the present invention includes a plurality of information layers provided on a substrate and an optical separating layer provided between information layer adjacent to each other, and information is recorded or reproduced by irradiation of a laser beam. When an information layer that is provided closest to a laser beam incident side of the plurality of information layers is taken as a first information layer and an optical separating layer provided in contact with the first information layer is taken as a first optical separating layer, then the first information layer comprises a recording layer, a transmittance adjusting layer that adjusts a transmittance of the first information layer, and a low refractive index layer provided between the transmittance adjusting layer and the first optical separating layer.
Abstract: The present invention provides novel azo dye material based on antipyrine azo structure and metal complexes containing such azo compounds which are suitable for optical recording media. The dyes exert high light-fastnesses properties and excellent recording characteristics. In particular the invention relates to optical layers comprising such dyes, to a method for manufacturing such optical layers and to optical recording media comprising such optical layers.
Abstract: The present invention provides certain laminates comprising a decorated poly(vinyl butyral) sheet and a film. Preferably, the film is a solar control film.
Abstract: A method for mass-producing a recording mark capable of being reproduced even below the diffraction limit in the information recording medium. A medium comprising: a substrate including a first material on the surface, and a second material formed on a first area on the substrate, and a third material at least whose surface energy or surface curvature are different from the second material, and the second material and third material possess at least different chemical or physical characteristics, and at least the surface energy or surface curvature of the third material are greater than the second material, moreover a region formed of the third material contains less than 20 percent of the second material, and the second or the third material can be melted for performing recording or reproduction, so that a recording mark can be produced that is capable of being read even below the diffraction limit in the information recording medium.
Abstract: A fluorescent image-printed article including a substrate, and an image formed on the substrate, wherein the image is formed from a fluorescent ink containing a binder, and a fluorescent substance which is dispersed in the binder, is capable of emitting fluorescence when irradiated with ultraviolet rays, and is substantially transparent to visible light, the fluorescent substance being formed of a rare earth complex containing, as a ligand, a compound represented by the following formula (1):
Abstract: A product 10 has a position identifying pattern 16 on it, the pattern comprising first and second positional components 24, 26 arranged to identify first and second positional coordinates x, y by means of their reflectivity at different respective wavelengths. Each component 24, 26 has a reflectivity at its respective wavelength that varies with position on the product 10 so that its reflectivity at a point is indicative of the position of that point, the pattern further comprising reference markings 34, 36 arranged to identify a fixed point in the scale of reflectivity of at least one of the positional components.

Abstract: A heat collector (10, 20) includes a heat absorption surface (12, 22), an opposite heat focus surface (11, 21) and one or more surrounding sides (13, 23). A matrix (24) of the heat collector is a thermally conductive material. There is an adiabatic dope (25) mixed within the matrix. A relative concentration distribution of the adiabatic dope increases from the heat absorption surface to the heat focus surface, and decreases from the surrounding sides to a center of the heat collector. The shape of the heat collector can be rectangular, cylindrical, prismatic, plate-shaped, square, or polyhedral. The heat collector can draw heat generated from electrical components, and collect the generated heat for reuse in order to enhance energy efficiency.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a water-based fluorescent ink for the purpose of measurement or judgment of the fluorescence emission in a visible light region by an excitation wavelength in a predetermined ultraviolet range, containing water, a coloring material dissolved or dispersed in water, and an organic solvent, having a plurality of fluorescent groups in the coloring material structure of the coloring material, and using a water-soluble coloring material having a sulfonic acid group as the water-soluble group in the state of a free acid, capable of improving the water resistance and the light resistance, dramatically increasing the content of the fluorescent coloring material in the ink, which has conventionally been included only by a small amount in the ink due to the concentration quenching problem, obtaining preferable fluorescence emission and water resistance of the recorded image, and providing preferable adhesion resistance to the recording medium of the coloring material and reliability.
Abstract: An information recording medium includes an insulating member, first and second electrodes formed in one plane of the insulating member, and a conductive layer having an electrochromic material providing continuity with the first and second electrodes. A gap between the first and second electrodes is insulated.
