Abstract: A thermal head is provided which includes a substrate of insulating material, a plurality of heat elements aranged on the substrate, a common electrode connected to a first end of each of the heat elements, and a plurality of gold patterns, each of which is connected to a second end of each of the heat elements. A protective layer is disposed on each of the plurality of gold patterns for protecting the gold patterns from damage due to the formation of electrical contacts thereto.
Abstract: The ink jet printing system contains at least one ink jet printing head operatively connected to printing medium reservoirs by a conduit system. A partial ink flow is passed through a regulating apparatus for viscosity-dependent regulation. On exceeding the ink viscosity or ink density, a spindle body constructed as a float contacts a switch constructed as a proximity switch. The switch is operated such that a corresponding signal is supplied to a control valve and as a result the supply of solvent to a main ink reservoir of the printing medium reservoirs is initiated. The regulating apparatus may constitute an independent assembly associated with the main ink reservoir or can be integrated into the main ink reservoir.
Abstract: An optical information recording medium of two disc substrates, which are adhered directly or through a convex portion formed on at least one of the substrates or a spacer provided between the substrates by an adhesive layer, and a recording layer which is capable of recording and/or reading information by laser beam and which is provided on a surface of at least one of the substrates facing the other substrate, wherein the adhesive layer is formed by an ultraviolet-curing epoxy adhesive composition comprising a light-initiator which produces a cationic polymerization initiator upon irradiation with ultraviolet rays and an epoxy compound having two or more epoxy groups per molecule.
Abstract: A temperature regulator is provided in a thermal printer to maintain reliable and consistent printing quality. The temperature regulator is constructed to either remove heat generated during the printing process from the printing area and/or from the printer itself or to supply heat as needed to maintain a constant temperature. The temperature regulator is formed of a heat pipe and a thermoelectric transducer with a common controller.
Abstract: Thermal printing is conducted as follows generally-used small-width thermal heads having an effective width equal to the width of A-4 size paper or B-4 size paper are arranged in rows, each of which has a plurality of thermal heads, over two parallel platens extending at right angles to the direction in which the recording paper is moved, in such a manner that the thermal heads in different rows are alternately in the direction of the width of the recording paper, whereby the heating resistors in the thermal heads in different rows overlap one another with respect to the direction in which the recording paper is moved.
Abstract: Apparatus for fixturing an optical recording disc in a DRAW recording machine comprising a hub having a conical shoulder for receiving and locating the disc center opening, and an axially facing shoulder for nesting support of the recording disc. A retaining ring encircles the disc periphery and has an inwardly oriented lip for capturing the disc periphery. A resilient snubber of elastomeric construction extends from the hub to the ring and has a roughened axially facing surface spaced from the opposing surface of the disc. A knob, including a torque-isolating thrust bearing, clamps the hub to the drive spindle of a recording apparatus. In operation, the snubber and air space between the snubber and disc cooperate to dampen vibration of the recording disc for enhanced accuracy and reliability of the recording process.
