Abstract: Disclosed is a sanitary napkin which is effective in preventing liquid from leaking out obliquely rearward. The sanitary napkin has rear flaps rearward of fold-back flaps to be wrapped around a crotch part of an undergarment. The rear flap has a side edge substantially parallel to a longitudinal centerline. The rear flap is provided at its front portion with a rear pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The rear pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is disposed forward of a rear end of a leakage preventing wall and a rear end of a main absorbent region. Since the rear flaps can be firmly fixed through the rear pressure-sensitive adhesive layers, the leakage preventing walls hardly move, so that the leakage preventing walls, as well as the rear flaps outside them, can effectively prevent obliquely rearward leakage.

Abstract: The invention is a hygienic cover for ones finger to prevent spreading microorganisms. The invention has an inner flexible microorganism impervious layer. Additionally, the invention would have an outer absorbent layer such as a cotton weave to absorb liquids and bond to mucus. Furthermore, the outer layer can contain and or the entire apparatus can be covered in antiseptic chemicals and or saline solutions to insure the outer layer is free of any microorganisms. Additionally, the invention would have one or more tabs that can be grasped by ones other hand to aid in the application and removal of the invention.

Abstract: A brief-type diaper has pre-girth parts (4, 4?) located vertically, and a pre-crotch part (5) located between the pre-girth parts and provided with substantially V-shaped recesses (6) in the front and rear body sides, respectively. An absorber is disposed in a brief-type diaper precursor (1) where pre-leg openings (7) are made. The precursor (1) is folded vertically along the center line X—X so that the pre-girth parts (4,4?) and the pre-crotch part (5) are overlapped. Subsequently, the side fringe parts (4a, 5a) are bonded to form a waist opening thus obtaining a panty type diaper in which joints (11, 11) are formed in the front and rear bodies and no joint exist in the left and right bodies of the girth area.

Abstract: A disposable body fluid absorbent wearing article such as a disposable diaper includes elastic members 12 associated with leg-holes each having a plurality of elastic members which are placed along cutouts of side flaps 6 to surround a wearer's thighs. The elastic members 12 associated with the leg-holes are converged into respective single bundles along first elastic zones S of a crotch region 10 and diverged in second and third elastic zones F, B extending forward and backward from the first elastic zones S so that the elastic members 12 associated with the leg-holes may have a tensile stress not higher along the first elastic zones S than in the second and third elastic zones F, B.

Abstract: A urine collection device (10) that is made up of a flexible, thermoplastic urine collection bag (20), which receives urine through a molded plastic inlet fitment (30) that is secured to an upper end of the bag 5 and discharges urine through a two-piece molded plastic valve fitment (40) at a lower end of the bag. The inlet fitment, which has no check valve therein, has a series of steps gradually reducing lateral extent as it extends longitudinally from the bag to a free end thereof, and each of the steps extends at a non-perpendicular angle to the longitudinal central axis of the inlet fitment. The bag is also free of any check or flutter valve. The outlet valve fitment has a fixed outer element (42) surrounding an inner element (44) that is rotatable with respect to the outer element to selectively open or close the outlet valve fitment to flow.

Abstract: A disposable diaper includes a cover member having a front waist region, a back waist region, and a crotch region and a liquid-absorbent panel disposed inside the cover member. The panel is joined to the cover member on inner surfaces of the front and back waist regions by an elastic band which extends in an elastically contractible condition in a circumferential direction of a wearer's waist. At least a portion of a clearance existing between the cover member and the elastic band is closed by a sheet material having extensibility back and forth of the diaper.

Abstract: A drainage device comprising an improved vacuum regulator assembly is disclosed which includes an adjustable knob for indicating the degree of vacuum being applied to the device from a number of incident viewing angles. Similarly, a vacuum indicator assembly is provided for indicating the presence or absence of vacuum being applied to drainage device. The indicator assembly provides an indication of vacuum inside drainage device from many viewing angles and includes a base defining a recess having a slanted surface with a vacuum symbol which is selectively masked by a collapsible thimble when vacuum is applied or removed from the drainage device.

Abstract: A post urination drip collector includes a tubular member having a first end, a second end and a perimeter wall extending between the first and second ends. The first and second ends are open. A cap member is integrally coupled to and covers the second end such that a housing is defined. An absorbent material is attached to and substantially covers an inner surface of the cap member. The housing is removably positioned over a penis to collect any post urination dripping that may occur.

Abstract: There is provided a multiple-component tampon applicator formed from at least three separate components including a barrel, a plunger, a fingergrip, an insertion tip. The at least three separate components are formed independently from one another, prior to forming the applicator. The multiple components may be formed from materials including, for example, biopolymer including starches and proteins, cardboard, heat shrink plastic, paper slurry, plastic, plastic tubing, pulp slurry, pulp-molded paper, or any combinations thereof. Methods for making a multiple component tampon applicator are also provided.
