Patent number: 5321391Abstract: A fish-bite indicator has a rotary part which is engaged by a fishing line when the indicator is in use, such that longitudinal movement of the fishing line causes the rotary part to rotate. Sensor means are provided to produce a signal for every rotation or part rotation of the rotary part. A counter is connected to the sensor means and constructed to issue an indicator signal in dependence upon each signal or each given count of signals it receives from the sensor means, the counter being constructed so that the number of each given count is alterable. A manually adjustable member is connected to the counter to enable that count to be altered thereby to enable the sensitivity of the indicator to be varied. The invention also extends to a fish-bite indicator comprising a housing having wall means which define (a) a sealed interior of the housing and (b) an enclosure immediately adjacent to the sealed interior.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1993Date of Patent: June 14, 1994Assignee: Fox Design International LimitedInventor: Clifford R. Patent number: 5257011Abstract: Multi-memory electronic identification tags are utilized in short-range cooperative electronic identification systems for the identification of a variety of objects. Such systems are comprised of readers and tags wherein a reader in the proximity of a tag may communicate with the tag in accordance with a specified process if the tag belongs to a certain class of tags. Tags are intended to be implanted within living tissue or concealed beneath the surface of inanimate objects. Communication between tag and reader is accomplished by a reader establishing a reversing magnetic field in the vicinity of a tag and the tag varying its absorption of power from the field in accordance with the information to be transmitted. The multi-memory tag utilizes three types of memory for the storage of data to be transmitted to an interrogating reader. The first type of memory is both permanent and unalterable and is used for storing data that is unique to the tag and never needs to be changed.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1993Date of Patent: October 26, 1993Assignee: Avid CorporationInventor: Michael L. Patent number: 4238790Abstract: A monitoring arrangement comprises units for sensing the flow of seeds through each coulter of a sowing machine and indicating units installed on a part of the machine where the coulters are supported. A common, central unit to indicate an interruption occurring in any coulter is also provided, acting via a common electric conduit that feeds signals from the indicating units to the central unit. The invention suggests one indicating unit for a maximum of three sensing units but preferably the number of the indicating units is half that of the sensing units while the number of the latter is identical with that of the coulters. The arrangement may further include a unit for counting fault locations, connected to the indicating units by the common conduit. At least some of the sensing units may be in the form of piezoelectric sensors that respond to the impingement of the seeds within the coulters.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1978Date of Patent: December 9, 1980Assignee: Mazogazdasagi Gepkiserleti IntezetInventors: Barnabas Balogh, Jozsef Erdelyi, Zsolt Fabian, Vazul Rusz, Mihaly Samu, Jozsef Szente

Patent number: 4024524Abstract: A linearly slidable sensing member having a tungsten carbide tip is operatively connected to a linear variable differential transformer (LVDT), and mounted on an adjustable bracket so that it is in continuous contact with an edge of a web. A d.c. electrical signal of a given voltage is generated by the LVDT depending upon the position of the sensing member with respect to a point that is stationary relative to the machine. The signal is compared to a reference d.c. voltage by a pair of differential voltage comparators, and depending upon the voltage of the signal relative to predetermined adjusted reference voltage levels one of three indicating lights is energized. Apparatus for energizing the lights may include switching amplifiers connected to each output of the differential voltage comparators, a triple exclusive OR gate, and a transistor connected to the output of each gate of the triple exclusive OR gate.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1975Date of Patent: May 17, 1977Assignee: Ball CorporationInventor: J.
