  • Patent number: 11853102
Abstract: In a remote control system (101), a terminal (121) waits for an instruction to be transmitted from a mediation device (111) by a browser, a virtual desktop, or the like. A remote controller (131) sends, to the mediation device (111), identification information that identifies the terminal (121) to be controlled and a service to be received by that terminal (121). If the terminal (121) identified by the sent identification information is waiting, the mediation device (111) transmits, to the waiting terminal (121), an instruction specifying the service identified by the sent identification information. The waiting terminal (121) sends, to a server (171) related to the service specified in the transmitted instruction, a request related to the service specified in the transmitted instruction. Note that it is possible to configure such that the server (171) provides the service after performing a confirmation that the terminal (121) that sends the request is the terminal (121) to be controlled.

  • Patent number: 11843680
Abstract: Methods and systems for cache optimization are described. Content items served to client devices of a content distribution network may be associated with a cache value. The cache value for a content item may cause a cache device to cache the content item for a period of time. The cache value for the content item may be updated based on increasing or decreasing popularity. The content item may be encoded at a plurality of bitrates, and cache values may vary across the plurality of bitrates such that multiple copies of the content item may each be cached for varying periods of time depending on a corresponding bitrate.

  • Patent number: 11799972
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for offloading session management processing into a forwarding plane. In some examples, a subscriber is coupled to a network endpoint through a session manager during a network session of the subscriber in a network environment. A session manager offloading system of the session manager can be maintained in a vector packet processing system in a forwarding plane of the network environment. The session manager offloading system can be configured to offload processing from the session manager into the forwarding plane. Further, at least a portion of subscriber traffic in a stream between the subscriber and the network endpoint through the session manager can be intercepted. Subsequently, the at least the portion of the subscribed traffic that is intercepted can be processed at the session manager offloading system as part of offloading the processing from the session manager into the forwarding plane.

  • Patent number: 11785057
Abstract: Described are examples for techniques to increase service reliability by reusing session-stateful service instances within a single long-lived session. A system for routing sessions within a network includes a first server hosting a first instance of a first service configured to establish a first network session for a subscriber with a first instance of a second service. The system includes a second server hosting the first instance of the second service configured to select the first instance of the first service to establish a second network session for the subscriber. The second service may copy header information from a first session invite to a second session invite for the second network session. The first network session remains active for a duration of the second network session. Reusing the first instance of the first service reduces the number of potential failure points to increase reliability of the long-lived session.

  • Patent number: 11785058
Abstract: Disclosed are a music playing method and device. A user device is used to control another user device, to realize a music on hold (playing music in a call-hold duration) function, which reduces interaction with a SIP server, thereby reducing load of the SIP server. Softswitch (i.e., switching SDP) is established between a second user device in need of the music on hold function and a media resource server by a first user device, to realize a P2P media link between the second user device and the media resource server, which saves broadband resources of the SIP server. Also, in a situation where the media resource server needs to be deployed in another network segment (i.e., the media resource server and the second user device are in two network segments), the P2P media link can avoid configuring an access permission to a router, thus being convenient for network environment deployment.

  • Patent number: 11729091
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments that provide highly available data-processing network functions for radio-based networks. In one embodiment, a tunnel host consistently routes network traffic associated with a range of network addresses in a radio-based network to a first instance of a data-processing network function instead of a second instance of the data-processing network function. A problem with the first instance of the data-processing network function is then detected. Additional network traffic associated with the range of network addresses is redirected from the first instance of the data-processing network function to the second instance of the data-processing network function.
