  • Patent number: 10877776
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method, device and computer program product for executing applications in a hybrid cloud. The method comprises in response to receiving a request for executing the application from a user, obtaining an application identifier for the application from the request. The method also comprises determining, based on the application identifier and a scheduling strategy associated with the application, an executable file identifier corresponding to the application. The method further comprises obtaining, from a repository associated with the hybrid cloud, an executable file of the application corresponding to the executable file identifier, the executable file being associated with a type of a heterogeneous device in a hybrid cloud. By utilizing the above method, users can rapidly execute the application without considering the type of the heterogeneous device in the hybrid cloud.

  • Patent number: 10848538
Abstract: Synchronized source selection for adaptive bitrate (ABR) encoders may be provided. First, a first adaptive transport stream (ATS) that is aligned with a second ATS produced by a second device may be provided from a first source by a first device. The first device may be fed from the first source. Next, an indication that the second device switched from being fed from the first source to being fed from a second source may be received. In response to receiving the indication, the first device may be switched from being fed from the first source to being fed from the second source. The first ATS that is aligned with the second ATS produced by the second device may then be produced from the second source by the first device.

  • Patent number: 10803133
Abstract: An event clustering system includes an extraction engine and a signalizer engine. The extraction engine is in communication with a managed infrastructure. In operation the extraction engine receives messages from the managed infrastructure and produces events that relate to the managed infrastructure. The events are converted into words and subtexts that are used to group the events into clusters relating to failures or errors in the managed infrastructure physical hardware. The managed infrastructure supports the flow and processing of information. The signalizer engine determines one or more common characteristics of events and produces clusters of events relating to the failure or errors in the managed infrastructure. Membership in a cluster indicates a common factor of the events that is a failure or an actionable problem in the physical hardware of the managed infrastructure directed to supporting the flow and processing of information.

  • Patent number: 10798192
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to identify a first request, from a first device, the first request having a first source port number. Examples disclosed herein determine whether a second request, having a second source port number, is within a threshold number of ports from the first source port number. Examples disclosed herein group the first and the second requests as a first session when the second source port number is within the threshold number of ports from the first source port number, and identify an application associated with the first session when a user agent of the first request matches a first application pattern associated with the first application, the first application pattern including a wildcard in a location corresponding to a numerical value in the user agent.

  • Patent number: 10756947
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with logging event messages in a computing grid using a distributed memory are described. In one embodiment, a method includes storing, in a distributed memory, a batch of log messages received from one of a plurality of handlers. Storing the batch in the distributed memory includes storing the batch in one of a plurality of memories that are part of the distributed memory and storing the batch with a group of batches from the plurality of handlers. The example method may also include generating, after a predefined period of time has elapsed, a formal log from the group of batches. The predefined period of time is an amount of time after a reporting period within which batches from the reporting period are expected to arrive in the distributed memory. The formal log includes sorted messages from the group of batches.

  • Patent number: 10749947
Abstract: Methods, devices and computer program products for facilitating the selection of a sourcing peer in peer-to-peer (P2P) streaming environment are disclosed. These methods allow peers to select candidate source peers in an informed manner with low overhead and minimized complexity. These and other features are accomplished by signalling detailed information regarding the buffer contents to one or more requesting peers. This information includes the presence or absence of requested content segments and a listing of gaps in the requested content segments, which allow the requesting peers to select an appropriate sourcing peer. The selection of a sourcing peer is also effected by considering network connectivity and/or network congestion status between the sourcing and the requesting peers.

  • Patent number: 10382530
Abstract: At a central device, a data source to be used for processing a workload is determined. A set is selected of devices operating within a threshold distance from the data source at a first time. A first subset of the set of devices is selected to form a cluster of devices. Each device in the first subset satisfies a clustering condition. A first device in the first subset is instructed to configure an application at the first device to participate in the cluster and process the workload. From a performance check on the first device, a change is discovered in a performance metric. In response to the change resulting from an increased demand for a computing resource at the first device, the first device is replaced with a second device from the first subset.

  • Patent number: 10348648
Abstract: In one embodiment, a particular service chain data packet is received by a particular service node, with the service chain data packet including a header identifying service chain information. The particular service node applies a service to the particular service chain data packet. The particular service node adds service-layer operations data to the particular service chain data packet, with the service-layer operations data related to the current service function or the particular service node. Subsequently, the particular service node sends the particular service chain data packet with the service-layer operations data from the particular service node. In one embodiment, networking operations data is also added to the particular service chain data packet. In one embodiment, an egress service node removes the service-layer (and possibly networking) operations data and forwards to another system, possibly after processing this operations data.

  • Patent number: 10110670
Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure provides for allocation of service endpoints to servers. In an embodiment, an endpoint table is maintained to specify currently allocation of respective service endpoints to corresponding server systems. Upon occurrence of a condition requiring reallocation of a first set of service endpoints currently allocated to a first server system, the first set of service endpoints are reallocated among the operational server systems (typically the server systems other than the first server system). The endpoint table is accordingly updated in accordance with the reallocation. When a packet is thereafter received directed for delivery to a target service endpoint, the packet is delivered to one of the operational server systems, which is indicated as being allocated the target service endpoint in the updated endpoint table.
