  • Patent number: 8767013
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for improving pilot situational awareness during brown-over-brown display situations. An image is rendered, on a display, that includes one of, or both, rendered terrain and rendered sky. A sky veil is at least selectively rendered on a portion of the display. The sky veil, when rendered, is rendered at least partially transparent and in a manner that portions of the sky veil that overlap with rendered sky are not discernable, and rendered terrain is viewable through portions of the sky veil that overlap with terrain.

  • Patent number: 8674992
Abstract: In a computer-displayed graph, indications of multiple attributes or states of an object represented by a node of the graph are displayed using a spotlight, in which attributes of the spotlight correspond to attributes of the object represented by the node. The attributes of the spotlight each correspond to an attribute of the object and may include the color, brightness, and size of the spotlight. The spotlight may be positioned with the node, including overlaying the spotlight on the node and positioning the spotlight relative to the node.

  • Patent number: 8648862
Abstract: A method, system and computer readable media relating to automatically adjusting a graphics feature to compensate for a predetermined resolution limit. The method generally relates to automatically identifying, within a selected area of a graphics file, one or more portions of at least one graphics feature meeting predetermined criteria for adjustment, including criteria for defining a thin portion having a thickness less than the resolution limit. The method then automatically modifies only the identified one or more portions to have an adjusted thickness greater than the initial thickness. Additional criteria may be used to restrict which thin portions of the feature are actually modified.

  • Patent number: 8621388
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an operation panel serving as a display apparatus and an input apparatus for accepting a request for performing processing and a control unit for controlling display on the operation panel. The control unit performs determination processing for determining whether a time period required for the processing requested to be performed is predictable or not, provides animation display by continuously displaying two or more windows relating to the processing when it is determined that the time period required for the processing is predictable, and provides pop-up display by displaying one window relating to the processing when it is determined that the time period required for the processing is not predictable.

  • Patent number: 8593486
Abstract: Provided is a video image data generation system including a database for storing a plurality of image data photographed in various directions in various locations, correlating the directions and the locations with the stored image data, and correlating and storing a photographed sub-region when the image data is acquired, a route view point specifying device which specifies various locations and eye level directions arranged on a view point route, an image search engine which searches an image of an eye level direction specified from a location of a view point route specified by the route view point specifying device and outputs video data, wherein the image search engine searches image data stored in a database and the image data including a sub-region located in an eye level direction in each of a plurality of locations on a view point route by referencing photography direction data correlated with the sub-region.

  • Patent number: 8587596
Abstract: A multithreaded rendering software pipeline architecture dynamically reallocates regions of an image space to raster threads based upon performance data collected by the raster threads. The reallocation of the regions typically includes resizing the regions assigned to particular raster threads and/or reassigning regions to different raster threads to better balance the relative workloads of the raster threads.

  • Patent number: 8581919
Abstract: A display controller is provided. The display controller includes an external memory and a timing controller which compresses current frame data to generate front first in-first out (FIFO) input data, temporarily stores the front FIFO input data and writes the front FIFO input data to the external memory in a burst mode, and reads data from the external memory in the burst mode, temporarily stores the read data as back FIFO output data, and decodes the back FIFO output data to output previous frame data.

  • Patent number: 8570315
Abstract: A method for fully-automatically aligning the quality of an image is provided. The method processes the video signals provided by the Video Graphic Array (VGA) display card in the computer system through the multi-sync display itself, and further interprets whether a computer host ID stored in the VGA display card or the computer host matches with a computer host ID stored in the multi-sync display, so as to avoid repetitious aligning to the same computer system, and achieve full automatic aligning to the quality of the image displayed on the multi-sync display. Therefore, even if the multi-sync display is situated under different computer hosts or VGA display cards and placed where an user cannot touch, the inconvenience of pressing a button on the multi-sync display to align the quality of the image displayed on the multi-sync display in conventional techniques can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 8527904
Abstract: Systems and method for interpreting a data selection on a touch screen may include providing an interface on the touch screen with a plurality of lanes, each lane associated with an attribute, and each attribute associated with a plurality of values. Icons may fill each lane, with each icon configured to display one of the values of the attribute of the lane. The interface may also have a first lane where a first icon is not displayed. It may be determined that a finger gesture input from the touch screen with a direction is associated with the first lane, and in response, the icons in the first lane may be moved in that direction to display the first icon. A finger tap input from the touch screen corresponding to the first icon may enlarge a size of the first icon on the touch screen to substantially fill the first lane.

  • Patent number: 8405669
Abstract: A display control device (110) is provided that increases the speed of a screen transition when acquiring screen data for display via a network. In the display control device (110), the display acquisition section (112) acquires not only display data corresponding to a transition target screen but also light simulation data that has small data size; and displays a simulated screen, which is a screen generated by the screen generation section (111) based on the light simulation data, until a screen based on the display data is displayed, to thereby provide a comfortable operational feeling without making a user feel a delay of a screen transition process, while reducing the memory consumption.
