  • Patent number: 8918463
Abstract: One or more computing devices receive, from each of multiple users, a current location and an indication of one or more content objects for uploading; the computing devices identify a first event tag based on social and spatio-temporal proximity between a subset of the users; the computing devices present the first event tag to at least one of the subset of the users; in response to one or more users of the subset of the users, the computing devices also associate the first event tag to the content objects from each of the subset of the users.

  • Patent number: 8904298
Abstract: Exemplary implementations may facilitate effectuating modifications within an instance of a virtual space presented via multiple disparate client computing platforms responsive to detection of a token associated with a single client computing platform. In some implementations, tokens may be detected based on signals received from token readers associated with individual ones of the multiple client computing platforms. A given token may be a standalone physical object. The given token may be detectable based on a signal conveying information associated with the given token. The information associated with the given token conveyed by the signal may be devoid of virtual space content.

  • Patent number: 8893303
Abstract: Access to digital content may be controlled by determining a digital content specification and associated authenticated rights locker access request, sending the authenticated rights locker access request and the digital content specification, and receiving a new authenticated rights locker access request and a Web page with clickable links in response to the sending, where at least one of the clickable links is associated with an authenticated digital content request. When an indication of a user selection of one of the clickable links is received, an authenticated digital content request associated with the user-selected clickable link is sent to a digital content repository. The digital content is received in response to the sending of the authenticated digital content request.

  • Patent number: 8843745
Abstract: A system and method of authorizing a product including transmitting from an end user device a character string, including a Transaction ID, to a licensing authority. The licensing authority encrypts the Transaction ID using an encryption key associated with a product for which the end user is seeking authorization to produce an Authorization number. Each product is associated with a different encryption key resulting in a different Authorization number being produced for each product based on the same Transaction ID. The licensing authority then returns the Authorization number to the end user device. A decryption processor associated with the end user device decrypts the Authorization number using an unchangeable decryption key and compares the decrypted Authorization number with the Transaction ID. If the decrypted Authorization number matches the Transaction ID the product is authorized.

  • Patent number: 8844046
Abstract: A method of static source code analysis is provided. A forward search of source code is performed from each of a plurality of source nodes. A backward search of source code is performed from each of a plurality of sink nodes, wherein the forward search and the backward search are performed in parallel simultaneously. The progress of the forward search and the backward search are monitored to determine if the searches intersect at a common node. A vulnerability alert is generated when the monitoring determines that a forward search and a backward search reach a common node.

  • Patent number: 8782777
Abstract: A processor-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product secures data stores. A non-contextual data object is associated with a context object to define a synthetic context-based object. The synthetic context-based object is associated with at least one specific data store in a data structure, where the specific data store contains data that is associated with data contained in the non-contextual data object and the context object. An ambiguous request is received from a user for data related to an ambiguous subject-matter. The context of the ambiguous request from the user is determined and associated with the synthetic context-based object that is associated with said a specific data store, where that specific data store contains data related to the context of a now contextual request from the user. The user is then provided access to the specific data store while blocking access to other data stores in the data structure.

  • Patent number: 8700700
Abstract: A display control technique that allows a latest screen shot to be displayed on a client apparatus regardless of a file update state in a server apparatus, in a network system that realizes a remote UI, is provided. When a file 105 on a server apparatus 100 has been updated during a period from a time of last end of an application to the current time, a first screen shot management section 102 transmits a screen shot 106 generated by the server apparatus 100, to a client apparatus 110. A display control section 116 displays the received screen shot 106 on a display screen when receiving the screen shot 106 from the server apparatus 100; and displays a screen shot 117 that is generated by the client apparatus 110 and stored in a second screen shot management section 114, on the display screen in the case other than the above.

  • Patent number: 8700691
Abstract: Embodiments are provided that include client-server computing architectures that use minimal download features and functionality as part of page navigation operations, but are not so limited. In an embodiment, a client-server computer system uses a page transition strategy to navigate between electronic pages based in part on script, style, content, and/or other page differences that can be used as part of providing minimal download features and functionality. A method of an embodiment operates to package page incremental rendering information for use in rendering a new electronic page without having to reapply common aspects of the new electronic page and a reference electronic page. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8695093
Abstract: A system and method of external link processing is disclosed. The system includes an interface configured to receive a user request to access an encoded external link in networked content. The encoded external link comprises a domain name of an external link server and an encoded portion which is an encoded result of an original external link encoded with an encoding function, wherein the original external link is an address to an external destination. One or more processors determine a safety level of the encoded external link using a criterion. In the event that the determined safety level of the encoded external link is determined unsafe, a warning message is generated indicating that the original external link is unsafe and the user is prevented from directly navigating to the original external link.

  • Patent number: 8627456
Abstract: The methods and systems provide for preventing a non-trusted virtual machine from reading the graphical output of a trusted virtual machine. A graphics manager receives a request from a trusted virtual machine to render graphical data using a graphics processing unit. The graphics manager assigns, to the trusted virtual machine, a secure section of a memory of the graphics processing unit. The graphics manager renders graphics from the trusted virtual machine graphical data to the secure section of the graphics processing unit memory. The graphics manager receives a request from a non-trusted virtual machine to read graphics rendered from the trusted virtual machine graphical data and stored in the secure section of the graphics processing unit memory, and prevents the non-trusted virtual machine from reading the trusted virtual machine rendered graphics stored in the secure section of the graphics processing unit memory.

  • Patent number: 8543836
Abstract: In a method for controlling access to an encrypted document, a request to access the encrypted document is received. The access request includes a user ID and a user password. A one-way hash function is performed on the user password to generate a hash value. An access control table is searched for the hash value which indicates an authorization for the user to access the encrypted document. The hash value corresponds to a document password encrypted with the user password. The document password is decrypted using the user password. The encrypted document is decrypted using the decrypted document password.
