Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic copier, lazer printer or like imaging apparatus for developing a latent image provided on a photoconductive element by a developing device of the type using a toner cartridge, thereby turning the latent image into a visible toner image. A body of the apparatus consists of an upper part and a lower part, the former being openably supported by the latter. A positioning frame is supported by the lower body part in such a manner as to rotatable up and down. An image carrier unit which includes at least the image carrier and a developing unit which includes at least the developing device are detachably mounted on the positioning frame and mounted to and dismounted from the frame independently of each other.
Abstract: An electromagnetic shield for shielding against electromagnetic interference in a manner similar to a solid metal shield having a thickness of several skin depths. In all of the disclosed embodiments, a plurality of electrically-conductive closed rings or loops are arranged in a predetermined relationship, to conduct current inducted by electromagnetic energy received from an exterior interference source or an interior signal source. The special ring or loop configuration causes the induced current to concentrate in the portions of the rings closest to a surface adjacent to the source of the electromagnetic energy, to enhance the shielding. One set of embodiments is suitable for use in a sheet material for housings or enclosures, while another set is suitable for use in the joints between mating coaxial conductors or between adjacent sheets of metal. Still another embodiment is suitable for use as a flexible or rigid cable shield.
Abstract: A microwave oven is provided having a field stirring and shifting device for use at high power levels. A circular plate having a set of parallel strips affixed to its surface is mounted in a recessed position in one wall of the heating chamber of a microwave oven. The plate is rotated to periodically affect the microwave heating field distribution in the chamber and to provide more uniform heating of objects in the chamber.
