The stop is arranged on the fixed first part and is movable with respect to the gripping knob by a relative translational movement to disable any release command in a predefined position. The gripping knob is thus able to occupy a first axial adjustment position offset from the stop to indicate the non-locked state enabling the release command, and is movable to a second axial adjustment position in engagement against the stop to indicate the locked state and to disable said release command.

A lug (18, 118) projecting laterally from a distal end of each projection has a profile configured such that it is able to nest in the elongated aperture of the flange when the apparatus is connected to the flange. The apparatus also comprises two locator elements (30, 32 or 130,132) that extend out from the body separately to the projections. The elements are spaced so as to receive the post flange therebetween, whereby the elements locate on opposite sides of the flange when the apparatus is connected to the flange.

The adjustable mount assembly is adjustable to snugly fit over the top of any partition wall to support a convex mirror or other devices by means of an interchangeable mount adapter and may also comprise release buttons on the adjustable element to facilitate disassembly of an assembled mount assembly.
