  • Patent number: 9633264
Abstract: Each of a plurality of cameras is sequentially selected. An image that does not include a retrieval target object is acquired, as a background image, from an image group captured by a selected camera. An image including the retrieval target object is acquired as a query image. A discriminator being used for identifying the retrieval target object from the image captured by the selected camera is learned using the background image and the query image. The retrieval target object is retrieved from the image group captured by the selected camera using the learned discriminator.

  • Patent number: 9633187
Abstract: A content access request from a first computing device for a digital content can be received. The content associated with request can be a digital content associated with a second computing device. A facial biometric identification challenge can be conveyed to the first computing device. The conveying can trigger the capture of a digital self-portrait photograph of a portion of a face of a user associated with the first computing device. A facial biometric of the face of a user within the digital self-portrait photograph can be compared to facial features of human faces within historic digital media associated with a different user. When the facial biometric matches a facial biometric within historic digital media, the digital content associated with the content access request can be conveyed to the first computing device.

  • Patent number: 9589360
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to segmenting a digital image of biological tissue into biological units, such as cells. A first weak or data driven segmentation is generated using image data representing the digital image to segment the digital image into a first set of biological units. Applying a geometric model, each unit in the first set of biological units is ranked based on a similarity in shape and scale between the unit and one or more other units in the image. A subset of units from the first set of biological units is selected based on the rank of each biological unit relative to a predetermined threshold rank. A second weak or data driven segmentation may then be generated using image data including the subset of biological units to segment that portion of the digital image into a second set of biological units.

  • Patent number: 9558411
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to classifying the status of objects. For examples, one or more computing devices detect an object from an image of a vehicle's environment. The object is associated with a location. The one or more computing devices receive data corresponding to the surfaces of objects in the vehicle's environment and identifying data within a region around the location of the object. The one or more computing devices also determine whether the data within the region corresponds to a planar surface extending away from an edge of the object. Based on this determination, the one or more computing devices classify the status of the object.

  • Patent number: 9478051
Abstract: A method is presented for accelerating magnetic resonance imaging. In 3D MRI, the k-space in the phase encoding plane is divided into two symmetric parts and three asymmetric parts. Different sampling densities are applied in different parts. Images are reconstructed by iteratively minimizing a cost function when random sampling is applied in each part. A phase constraint term is added into the cost function to improve the quality of the reconstruction by exploiting the conjugate symmetry of k-space.
