  • Patent number: 8923223
Abstract: Techniques for sending control information in a wireless network are disclosed. A multi-carrier user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink grant on a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on a first component carrier (CC). The UE may also receive a data transmission associated with the PDCCH on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) on a second CC. In some examples, the UE determines physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resources for acknowledging the data transmission based on the first CC on which the PDCCH is received, the second CC on which the data transmission is received, and a transmission mode of the second CC. The UE may send acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) information for the data transmission based on the PUCCH resources.

Abstract: A user terminal (115, 200) for a wireless communications system, equipped with at least two antennas (205, 206, 207) for the reception and/or transmission of traffic from a higher node (105). The user terminal (115, 200) is arranged to receive (210) said traffic in one or more data streams (S1, S2) i.e. with a rank of one or higher. The user terminal is arranged (215, 216, 220) to choose with which rank the higher node (105) should transmit the traffic to the user terminal (115, 200) on, and to also signal this choice to the higher node (105). The user terminal (115, 200) is arranged to base its choice of rank on the estimated received data rate at the user terminal for different transmission ranks, the estimated power consumption in the user terminal for different transmission ranks and the Signal to Noise ratio, SIR, of the channel at the UE.

  • Patent number: 8923151
Abstract: A moving image transmission system determines adequate number of packets, which are corresponding to redundant portion, in accordance with a network state. The moving image transmission system estimates a correlation between a transmission bit rate and a packet loss rate based on both of information which indicates the packet loss rate and bit rate information, and determines the packet loss rate, which makes an encode bit rate of moving image data maximum, based on the correlation, and determines redundancy, which is applied to the moving image data, based on the determined packet loss.

  • Patent number: 8891469
Abstract: Provided are a radio transmitting apparatus and a control signal transmitting method whereby the number of blind decodings on a control signal receiving side can be reduced without increasing the control signal allocation block rate. In a base station (100), a search space establishing unit (103) establishes two subsets into which a UE-SS established in a second transmission mode different from a first transmission mode has been divided and the number of which is the same as the number of the sub-modes of the first transmission mode, and an allocating unit (106) allocates the mutually different subsets to those two respective sub-modes. Each subset has a plurality of downstream control information allocation area candidates. In this way, the blind decoding area candidates related to DCI format corresponding to each sub-mode can be limited to the subset corresponding to each sub-mode.

  • Patent number: 8848609
Abstract: Techniques are provided for a foreign controller to receive a handoff message including information for a multicast group that is used to forward network control information originating from an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) network router by a home wireless controller to one or more foreign wireless controllers for mobile client devices that were first associated with the home controller. The foreign controller joins a multicast group based on the information contained in the handoff message and establishes a communication path with a mobile client device. The foreign controller extracts network control information addressed to the mobile client device received from the home wireless controller via a multicast stream associated with the multicast group, and forwards the network control information to the mobile client device via the communication path.

  • Patent number: 8812730
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for network port and network address translation. Several problems with limited addressability may occur when transmitting data packets between a terminal in a first network and a terminal in a second network that is outside the first network.
