  • Patent number: 7931306
Abstract: A vented gas riser for use in a system for conducting pressurized gas through a gas carrier pipe from a gas supply source line located below ground level to a delivery point disposed above ground is provided. A fluid tight gas riser protective casing is disposed around said carrier pipe and creates a gas escape passageway in an elongate annular space between the carrier pipe and the casing. Any gas which leaks from the gas carrier pipe is captured in the gas escape passageway. A riser transition head, which includes at least one vent passageway, provides a fluid connection with said gas escape passageway and with the atmosphere such that any gas which leaks in the vicinity of the gas escape passageway can escape through the at least one vent into the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 7900972
Abstract: An improved fluid connector for garden use includes a tube body, a resilient retainer and a sleeve associated therewith. The tube body includes a plurality of holes for accommodation of a locking hook respectively and the resilient retainer is peripherally equipped with several pairs of vertical flexible ribs with an expansion space defined therebetween. On an inner wall of the sleeve, a plurality of push protrusions is disposed and is positioned in relationship with the vertical flexible ribs respectively so that, as the sleeve is pushed downwardly, the flexible ribs may be forced to deform and produce an reactive force that can instantly push the push protrusions of the sleeve back to their original place when the sleeve is free of an external force.

  • Patent number: 7887102
Abstract: The coupling comprises a male plug (3) and a female element (2). A retaining latch (20) for retaining the plug (5) in the female element (7) is movable between a first position in which said latch (20) is capable of retaining the plug (5) engaged to a first depth in the female element (7) in which it is connected in leaktight manner to said female element, and a second position in which said latch (20) is suitable for retaining the male plug (5) engaged to a second depth that is smaller than the first depth. The latch (20) is configured in such a manner as to be returned (F3) towards the second position at least in part by positive pressure in a passage (4, 17, 26, 34) for purging the downstream pipe when the plug is at the second depth. • Patent number: 7857361
Abstract: A coupler for connecting and disconnecting a first hydraulic connector and a second hydraulic connector. The coupler has a first end and a second end. The coupler first end has a threaded opening adapted to combine with a threaded connector. The coupler second end has an opening with several members movable relative to the longitudinal axis of the coupler. The movable members have a first position wherein they are moved outward to make the opening larger and a second position wherein they are moved inward to make the opening smaller. The opening in the coupler second end is adapted to receive a threaded connector when the movable members are in their first (larger) position. After a portion of the threaded connector is inserted into the opening, the members are moved to their second (smaller) position thereby securing the threaded connector to the coupler second end.

  • Patent number: 7823930
Abstract: A coupling comprising a receiving part (1), a securing part (9) and an insertion part (17) includes blocking elements (6, 13?) whose engagement preventing the securing part (9) from moving from an extended position into a retracted position is released by the axial displacement of latching arms (13) of the securing part (9) under the effect of a retaining ring (22) upon the insertion of said insertion part (17), such that when the insertion part (17) is properly arranged in a receiving space (16) of the receiving part (1), the securing part (9) can be shifted into the retracted position in which said insertion part (17) is secured. What is achieved in this way is relatively simple modification of the assembly force through design measures, high wear resistance, and simple and operationally reliable manipulation of the inventive coupling with regard to the release of the connection between the receiving part and the insertion part, especially under confined spatial conditions.

  • Patent number: 7793993
Abstract: A coupling device for a fluid line has a collet and an axially movable actuating sleeve serving for operation of the collet. The collet bears several gripping teeth with associated actuating portions able to be acted on by actuating faces on the actuating sleeve in order to hold the inserted fluid line. In the non-operated state of the actuating sleeve there are at least partly different distances between the mutually associated actuating portions and actuating faces so that on actuation of the actuating sleeve several actuating portions of the collet are acted on one after the other. This means that the necessary actuating force is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7774915
Abstract: A sealing gasket is shown for use in a ductile iron piping system to form a sealed joint between mating male and female pipe ends. A sealing gasket body is provided with a series of retainer inserts which extend outwardly from a leading nose region of the elastomeric gasket body. The mating male pipe end contacts the retainer inserts prior to contacting the remainder of the gasket body during the make up of the pipe joint. The inserts help to retain the gasket within its associated groove during high pressure field conditions. The inserts are spaced circumferentially about the gasket nose region, allowing the gasket the necessary flexibility to allow insertion within the groove provided in the female, belled pipe end.

  • Patent number: 7731246
Abstract: A tubular coupling system and method; the system and method in at least certain aspects, using a coupling member with an interior protective ring that has at least one inner energizing member which, upon compression, forces the body of the coupling member against an interior wall of the coupling thereby inhibiting corrosive material from contacting the coupling's interior wall or, in the event some corrosive material does enter this area, holding the interior protective ring against the coupling's interior wall so that the corrosive material remains in and does not exit this area, thus inhibiting or preventing a continuous flow of corrosive material.

  • Patent number: 7658418
Abstract: A swivel coupling for electrical conduit is formed of a pair of arcuate tubular sections joined together at a pair of connecting flanges. A liquid tight seal is provided by an O-ring which seats in registered annular grooves in the face of each flange. A coupling nut tightens the flanges against one another. Formed at the end of one of the sections is a junction box fitting including a threaded nipple which is inserted through an opening of the junction box until a stop nut, positioned on the nipple, engages the box. A tightening nut is engaged over the nipple from the interior of the junction box to secure the swivel coupling to the box. The end of the other tubular section includes a conduit fitting for securing a length of electrical conduit. Because the stop nut is installed after the coupling nut has been advanced past the nipple, a reduced diameter coupling nut may be employed.
