  • Patent number: 10079424
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for an antenna positioning apparatus, which includes a multiple-assembly positioner for adjusting a positioning angle about a positioning axis. The multiple-assembly positioner has two or more positioning assemblies that are coupled in series between a base structure and a positioning structure. Positioning assemblies can be individually selected based on various criteria, such as cost, complexity, angular range, and other performance, and be configured to work together to provide a desired range of adjustment to the positioning angle while simultaneously meeting precision requirements. In one example, a positioning assembly can include a shaft with an eccentric portion, which is rotated in order to provide the adjustment. A method is described where a first positioning assembly can be actuated to a first initial position, and then held, such that a second positioning assembly can be actuated to provide a selected antenna positioning angle.

  • Patent number: 5678794
Abstract: A variable length sign holder includes a base having a sleeve including a first end, a second end and a socket extending from the first end toward the second end, as well as a plate to which the second end of the sleeve is secured. A slot extends longitudinally along an exterior periphery of the sleeve and communicates with the socket. A pair of enlarged openings are located on the sleeve exterior periphery. The pair of openings are longitudinally spaced along the slot. A support member cooperates with the base. The support member includes a shaft which is slidably mounted in the socket of the base sleeve. The shaft has a first end, a second end and an outer periphery on which is located a lug. The lug cooperates with one of the pair of enlarged openings located on the sleeve exterior periphery.

  • Patent number: 5579929
Abstract: A device for holding rod-shaped workpieces, especially test tubes, has a base plate spaced at a distance from a support surface. A receiving and clamping device has at least two elastic tongues that are displaceable in the plane of the base plate. The tongues are positioned in a perforation of the base plate and act in pairs on the test tube. The holding device is extremely simple in its design and economical to manufacture, but ensures a reliable securing of the test tube at different levels.

  • Patent number: 5564670
Abstract: A device that can be fixed to a cleat mounted on a boat, dock, deck, pier, or wherever a cleat is available. The U bar of the cleat mounted holding device is placed around the cleat, the wing bolt is inserted into the threaded hole formed in the short bar of the U bar and the wing bolt is tightened until the U bar compresses the cleat between the elongated bar and the short bar thus securing the U bar to the cleat; the pivot support bar is rotated to the desired direction and angle relative to the cleat. A fishing rod, or an umbrella, a lamp stand or any other desirable device is placed into the support tube.

  • Patent number: 5556062
Abstract: A pipe support apparatus including a length of flexible webbing having a first receptacle formed at one end and a second receptacle formed adjacent an opposite end of the webbing, a first rigid member received within the first receptacle, and a second rigid member received within the second receptacle. Each of the first and second rigid members has a height greater than a thickness of the webbing. The length of webbing defines a pipe receiving surface between the first and second rigid members. Each of the first and second receptacles is a loop having an opening suitable for slidable receipt of the first and second rigid members. The first and second rigid members are cylindrical members which are slidably received within each of the receptacles. The webbing can have a plurality of receptacles formed adjacent one end of the webbing. The plurality of receptacles selectively receives one and only one of the rigid members.

  • Patent number: 5549261
Abstract: A brace for a gutter including a support which is sized and shaped to fit within a gutter, at least two ferrules and at least one fastener for each ferrule. The at least two ferrules being of a larger inner diameter than an outer diameter of said at least one fastener. The support contains at least two sets of holes, each set of holes being defined in said support. One hole is of a first size such that a fastener can pass through it but a ferrule cannot and the other hole is of a second size that both a fastener and a ferrule can pass through. The holes are parallel to each other and the centers of the holes are opposite each other. The ferrule is inserted into said hole of first size allowing the ferrule to pass through it. The fastener is inserted into the hole of second size and passes through the support into the hole of first size and through the ferrule.

  • Patent number: 5538215
Abstract: A siderail socket or clamp for mounting a support rod of a surgical accessory on the siderail of a medical table comprises a frame defining first and second channels for receiving the siderail and the support rod, respectively; a first actuator for actuating the support rod along a path of travel transverse to an extension of the second channel and a second actuator extending into the first channel. The second actuator is moveable transversely to the path of travel in response to actuation of the support rod along the path of travel for actuating the siderail transversely to an extension of the first channel. The movement of the second actuator transversely to the path of travel of the support rod in the second channel permits the siderail socket to grip the siderail across two perpendicular dimensions, thereby reducing the "play" of the socket relative to the siderail.

  • Patent number: 5533701
Abstract: A bracket for stabilizing a cylindrical compressed air tank suitable for scuba diving against a bulkhead of a boat, the bracket having an operating position where the bracket arms are extended perpendicular to the boat bulkhead for firmly holding a cylindrical tank in place while it rests on its base and pivotal arms that move downwardly flush with the bulkhead and parallel to in an out-of-the-way position when the bracket is not in use. The bracket is comprised of two identical components which can be interlocked together adjustably longitudinally in length to accommodate compressed air tanks of different diameters. Each bracket component has two separate pieces that have an interlocking hinge, both pieces of which can be molded so that the entire bracket can be fabricated at low cost.
