Abstract: For use with an irradiation system including a radiation source operable to produce a radiation beam towards a target, a beam modulator including a flexible, deformable container at least partially filled with a radiation attenuating fluid, a non-deformable first contacting surface in contact with a first portion of the container, the first contacting surface pivotable about a first axis, and a positioner operable to rotate the first contacting surface about the first axis, wherein as the first contacting surface rotates about the first axis, the first contacting surface deforms the container.

Abstract: A stackable, portable chafer assembly comprising a stack of chafter units in which a first lowermost unit has a frame which supports a water pan and the other units of the first unit nest within that pan in compact fashion. The frame of the first unit is designed to support one or more chafter units above it, with the frame of each successively higher unit resting on the frame of the next lower unit, whereby a compact stacked assembly is provided which saves substantially on storage space and which allows the plurality of units to be moved by a single person, avoiding the need to employ one person to move each one of the units.

Abstract: Centrifuge drive apparatus including a support including a plurality of resilient mounting members that are spaced around a rotation axis and are intersected by a mounting plane that is perpendicular to the rotation axis, and a centrifuge bowl and drive motor assembly having a combined center of gravity in the vicinity of the mounting plane to reduce vibration.

Abstract: A polish rod jack system for an oil well pumping units that utilizes a sucker rod; incorporating a hollow hydraulic ram to raise and lower the sucker rod string; hoses and tubing to connect the hydraulic ram to a remote manifold and in turn to a hydraulic pumping source; a hydraulic and electric switchgage to stop a prime mover in the event of pumping unit and system malfunctions and or failures; quick-disconnect fittings to facilitate connection and disconnection of the hydraulic ram from the system when the well is being serviced and to allow rapid connection and disconnection of a hydraulic pump at the remote hydraulic manifold to allow the bottom hole pump to be respaced and fine tuned while the pumping unit is in operation to maximize production.

Abstract: A double wall fabric panel unit for use as a wall section in the construction of inflatable buildings comprising an elongated exterior fabric envelope panel having a plastic coating on each side, and an elongated thermal liner panel having side edge strips heat-sealed to the exterior panel. The thermal liner has a foil layer facing the exterior panel and a white plastic layer on the opposite side. The side edge strips are periodically interrupted to provide air passageways to vent air from between the panels when the unit is rolled.

Abstract: A wall vent preferably for use in a high-rise building is releasably opened for venting a fire in the building. The vent comprises a frame, a window or venting panel that is pivotally for biasing the venting panel to an open position and latch means for maintaining the panel in a closed position. The latch means may be either manually or electrically released or released upon detection of heat or smoke, and may be released either at the panel or remotely. Each wall vent is also preferably releasable to an open position from a story of the building therebelow.
