  • Patent number: 7158641
Abstract: A memory card (110) decodes data delivered to a data bus (BS3) and extracts a session key (Ks1) sent from a server from the data. Based on the session key (Ks1), an encrypting section (1406) encrypts a public encryption key (KPm (1)) of the memory card (110) and delivers it to a server through the data bus (BS3). The memory card (110) receives data including a license key (Kc) and a license (ID) encrypted with the public encryption key (KPm (1)) different with memory card to memory card, decrypts the data, encrypted it again with uniquely given secret key (K(1)), and stores it in a memory (1415).

  • Patent number: 7130425
Abstract: A copy protection (CP) key used by a sending source, such as a POD, to encrypt content such as audio and/or video information is derived by a first key generator associated with a first processor and is locally encrypted by the first processor using a locally generated bus encryption key to produce a bus encrypted CP key that is sent over a local unsecure bus to a second processor, such as a graphics processor. The second processor decrypts the bus encrypted copy key using a decryption engine to obtain the CP key. The second processor receives the encrypted content and in one embodiment, also uses the same decryption engine to decrypt the encrypted content. The first and second processors locally exchange public keys to each locally derive a bus encryption key used to encrypt the CP key before it is sent over the unsecure bus and decrypt the encrypted CP key after it is sent over the bus.

  • Patent number: 7124296
Abstract: An architecture and a method for cryptography acceleration is disclosed that allows significant performance improvements without the use of external memory. Specifically, the chip architecture enables “cell-based” processing of random-length IP packets. The IP packets, which may be of variable and unknown size, are split into fixed size “cells.” The fixed-size cells are then processed and reassembled into packets. The cell-based packet processing architeture of the present invention allows the implementation of a processing pipeline that has known processing throughput and timing characteristics, thus making it possible to fetch and process the cells in a predictable time frame. The architecture is scalable and is also independent of the type of cryptography performed. The cells may be fetched ahead of time (pre-fetched) and the pipeline may be staged in such a manner that attached (local) memory is not required to store packet or control parameters.

  • Patent number: 7089593
Abstract: There is furnished a method for providing an individual temporary access to a commonly accessible computer processing system (CA computer). The CA computer has a plurality of application programs associated therewith. The method includes the step of detecting the coupling of a portable storage device to the CA computer. The storage device has stored therein an access code for indicating whether the user is authorized to temporarily access the CA computer and information including computing preferences of the individual. It is determined whether the individual is authorized to temporarily access the CA computer, based on the access code. The CA computer is modified in accordance with the information stored in the storage device and temporary access is provided to the CA computer, when the individual is authorized to temporarily access the CA computer. The activity of at least one of the individual and the CA computer is monitored, until the storage device is de-coupled from the CA computer.

  • Patent number: 4344642
Abstract: A suspension system for a double-axle vehicle has been developed which allows load-sharing up and down movement of the axles to occur in a rectilinear manner so as to cope with road surface irregularities, such as potholes. The rectilinear manner of the movement ensures that the axles do not twist and, for example set up driveline vibration in a driven axle. The forward end of the leading spring and the trailing end of the other spring are each carried by a cranked rocker. The intermediate ends of the springs are interconnected by a further rocker. A torsion shaft links one axle to a rocker mounting point, and the free arms of the two cranked rockers are connected by a rod which causes the cranked rockers to move synchronously as the springs move up and down, thereby ensuring rectilinear movement of the springs.
