  • Patent number: 3987966
Abstract: Bundles of chaff fibers are fed into a rotating preacceleration chamber having a diverging outlet. The chaff fibers are rotated with the preacceleration chamber and are forced radially outward by centrifugal force. A feed mechanism forces the rotating chaff fibers toward the diverging outlet from which they are propelled outwardly at a high velocity and at an angle almost orthogonal to the rotational axis of the chaff dispenser.

  • Patent number: 3982669
Abstract: The apparatus of this invention is designed to dispense material from a container. The container is placed on a base of the apparatus between a pair of hydraulically or pneumatically operated telescoping rods that are secured to the base. A cross bar which bridges the rods is secured to the top end of each rod. This cross bar carries two pump motors and a pair of spaced apart rods. The pair of spaced apart rods are each secured to the cross bar at one end and to a follower plate at the other end. The follower plate is surrounded by wipers and if the material that is to be dispensed must be heated before it can be dispensed, either one of two embodiments of an integrally fabricated combination heater-follower plate with wipers is utilized in place of the follower plate. In addition, optional heat radiating fins may be secured to the bottom of either of the two integrally fabricated combination heater-follower plates, if desired.

  • Patent number: 3957178
Abstract: A small hand-held dispenser of the pump variety, comprising a container and a cooperable dispenser pump construction adapted to be carried by the container. The pump per se is secured therein by means of a unique plastic closure which is in the form of an inverted, dish-shaped member. The closure has relatively thin walls enabling it to be readily molded, and has a depending peripheral flange with an internal bead which is forced over an external shoulder on the rim of the container so as to effect a snap fit therewith. In one embodiment, the flange has a depending portion which extends downward a substantial distance beyond the location of the internal bead, so as to minimize the likelihood of the flange being cracked either during or after the forced bypass of the bead and container shoulder. The plastic closure not only securely mounts the pump assemblage, but also effects a leak-proof connection with the container while at the same time simplifying the assembly operations and tooling.

  • Patent number: 3942645
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a feeding and rectifying method and apparatus for orienting articles of manufacture in a predetermined manner onto a moving conveyor means. The feeding and rectifying apparatus comprises essentially a system of maintaining a supply of articles in a hopper through which the articles are randomly discharged. The dispensing of the articles from the hopper is attained by effecting relative rotation between the discharge means and the hopper, and orientation or rectification of the articles thus removed is effected by cooperating camming means and gauging means mounted for relative rotation with respect to one another operating on the article.

  • Patent number: 3940019
Abstract: An automatic mixed drink dispensing apparatus includes a housing including a secured liquor receiving zone which receives a plurality of liquor containers. The housing also receives syrup containers, a water container, and a carbon dioxide container. An ice chest is mounted in the upper portion of the housing and has a liquid chilling apparatus in the bottom thereof. A dispensing head is mounted on the housing and extends into a mixed drink preparation zone. Drains extend from a point in the mixed drink preparation zone beneath the dispensing head and from a point in the bottom of the ice chest to a drain pan slidably supported in the bottom of the housing. Liquor pumps function to withdraw liquor from the liquor containers and to discharge the liquor through the dispensing head. The syrup containers are pressurized with carbon dioxide from the carbon dioxide container, whereby syrup is caused to flow through the liquid chilling apparatus and through the dispensing head.
