    Abstract: A reversible ratchet wrench includes a moveable pawl connected to a handle via a linkage such that the pawl cannot become disengaged from the hand during operation of the wrench. The handle is pivotally attached to housing forming a portion of a head of the wrench, where pivoting of the handle between a first position and a second position switches a position of a pawl between a first position and a second position to thereby change an operating direction of the wrench. A distance of movement of a proximal end of the handle, opposite a head of the wrench, during switching is confined to a limited range by elongating the wrench head and extending a distance between a connection point of the handle to the pawl and the pivotal connection of the handle to the housing.

The direction switch is connected to the holder, movable between two positions relative to the holder, and formed with two bosses. The ring includes two cutouts and two hooks. The cutouts receive the bosses so that the ring is rotatable with the direction switch. One of the hooks is engaged with the boss of one of the pawls to firmly engage the toothed face of the remaining one of the pawls with the toothed wheel when the ring is moved to one of the positions by the direction switch.

    Abstract: A pneumatic tire seater for seating a tubeless tire on a rim has an advanced rapid air release (RAR) valve mounted on a tank suitable for containing pressurized air. A nozzle is mounted on one end of the RAR valve, and the other end of the valve is in unconstrained pneumatic communication with the interior of the air tank. A piston is within a cylinder of the RAR valve. A control chamber behind the piston contains a compression spring. Control gas passageways provide constrained pneumatic communication between the control chamber and the air tank, passing control gas into the control chamber. In response to actuating a control mechanism, the air in the control chamber is vented out into the atmosphere causing the RAR valve to rapidly open, producing a blast of air of sufficient magnitude to seat a tire on a rim.
