    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a direct type backlight module (1) and a display device. The direct type backlight module (1) includes: a back plate (10) including a body (110) and a side plate (120) protruding around an edge of the body (110), the body (110) and the side plate (120) are enclosed to form a receiving cavity (100), and a back surface of the body (110) is partially recessed towards the receiving cavity (100) to form a mounting groove (130); and a rear housing (20), covering the mounting groove (130), a back surface of the rear housing (20) is flush with an edge of the mounting groove (130) of the body (110). The direct type backlight module (1) overcomes the defect in the conventional display device that the rear housing protrudes from the back plate, causing uneven thickness of the display device.

    Abstract: A channel system that includes a first channel section, a second channel section, and a hinge joint between the first and second channel sections is disclosed. The hinge joint allows the first channel section to fold against the second channel section for storage and shipping of the channel system. In one embodiment, the hinge joint itself includes a hinge member that extends between the two channel sections and bends hingedly to allow movement and two intermediate endcaps, which cap the channel sections on either side of the hinge joint. The hinge joint may be designed to “snap back” to a fully extended position. Mechanical securement structure may be added to the first channel section and the second channel section to improve force and retention during the “snap back” movement.

    Abstract: In a light guide pointer, a vertex portion of a light control space is located on a sub-pointer portion side with respect to a center axis of a light entrance shaft, providing appropriate luminance balance between a main pointer portion and the sub-pointer portion. The light control space includes a circular arc portion, thereby broadening diffusion range of light that has passed through the light control space and preventing attenuation of light traveling along inclined portions. A center of the circular arc portion is located on the main pointer portion side with respect to the center axis, allowing strong light that has entered the light control space from the vertex portion to be diffused more. Local focusing and/or attenuation of light can be prevented, while providing appropriate luminance balance between the main pointer portion side and the sub-pointer portion side, thereby reducing luminance unevenness at the light emitting face.
