Abstract: A mirror assembly can include a housing, a mirror, and a light source. In certain embodiments, the mirror includes a light pipe configured to emit a substantially constant amount of light along a periphery of the mirror. In some embodiments, the mirror assembly includes a sensor assembly. The sensor assembly can be configured to adjust the amount of emitted light based on the position of a user in relation to the mirror. Certain embodiments of the mirror include an algorithm to adjust light based on the position of a user relative to the mirror, the level of ambient light, and/or the activation of different light modes.

Abstract: An LED-based lamp assembly for use with a light fixture having a socket portion including a driver assembly having a base portion rotateably engageable with the socket portion to make a first electrical contact with the light fixture. The base portion is coupled to a driver housing. The driver assembly includes an electrically conductive tip portion coupled to the base portion. The tip portion is engageable with the socket portion to make a second electrical contact with the light fixture wherein the tip portion and driver housing are moveable relative to each other when the tip portion is in the second electrical contact with the socket portion. The driver assembly includes first electrical contacts. A lamp housing assembly is operably connected to the driver assembly. The universal mounting system can be used to mount a lighting fixture on any pole by reusing existing holes or drilling new holes through the pole.

Abstract: Certain example embodiments relate to improved lighting systems and/or methods of making the same. In certain example embodiments, a lighting system includes a glass substrate with one or more apertures. An LED or other light source is disposed at one end of the aperture such that light from the LED directed through the aperture of the glass substrate exits the opposite end of the aperture. Inner surfaces of the aperture have a mirroring material such as silver to reflect the emitted light from the LED. In certain example embodiments, a remote phosphor article or layer is disposed opposite the LED at the other end of the aperture. In certain example embodiment, a lens is disposed in the aperture, between the remote phosphor article and the LED.
Abstract: Lighting devices that comprise a light source and a reflector, the reflector comprising first, second and third reflector regions. In some devices, a first portion of light is reflected by the first region and then by the third reflector region, a second portion of light is reflected by the second region and forms a primary beam, and at least 5% of the first portion of light that is reflected by the third region is within the primary beam of light. In some devices, at least 5% of all light reflected by the first reflector region travels from the first reflector region directly to the third reflector region. In some devices, at least 5% of all light reflected by the third reflector region traveled directly from the first reflector region to the third reflector region. In some devices, the reflector comprises means for providing the features described above.

Abstract: An illuminated vehicular sign is provided including a vehicle and luminescent planar sheet. The luminescent planar sheet is constructed to provide illuminated alpha-numeric characters which are mounted to the horizontal planar surfaces of a vehicle. The alpha-numeric characters are mounted substantially horizontally so as to be seen from the air such as by helicopters or planes. The illuminated vehicle sign includes a switching system electrically connected to the luminescent planar panels for selectively controlling the transfer of power from said power source to the luminescent planar panels. The switching system including one or more adjustable variable resistors electrically connected to the luminescent planar panels for allowing one to selectively adjust the wattage provided to them.

Abstract: The vehicular hitch mounted winch is a winch mounting system for vehicles. The vehicular hitch mounted winch provides a structure upon which a winch is mounted. The vehicular hitch mounted winch is readily attached to the trailer hitch of an automobile and can be readily removed. Abstract: A stretchable display device including a stretchable display to display an image, the stretchable display having a band shape; holes on an outwardly facing surface of the stretchable display; and a stopper on an inwardly facing surface of the stretchable display, the stopper being coupleable with any one of the holes to loop the stretchable display device in a ring form, wherein a size of an image display area of the stretchable display is controllable based on a current value that depends on a position of a hole to which the stopper is coupled.
