  • Patent number: 5282114
Abstract: A rectangular housing has an electronics mounting frame shock mounted in it. The frame includes a plate and two angle members extending parallelly on opposite ends of the plate. A tray holding a controller electronics circuit board is suspended from the angles with knurled screws that can be hand fastened. A processor tray holds a processor circuit board. Spring-loaded plungers on one end of the processor tray attach the tray to flanges on the end of the plate distal from the controller tray. Hand-operable fasteners attach the other end of the processor tray to the angles overlying the controller tray. With these fasteners unscrewed, the processor tray may be pivoted upward, and a rod attached to one angle raised to stably support it, thus permitting access to the controller circuit. The controller tray may also be stably supported on top of the angles to provide access to a modular power supply beneath it. A rectangular frame extends the housing by one RETMA unit.

  • Patent number: 5281941
Abstract: A coil form for supporting coils of wire includes three intersecting orthogonal plates whose peripheral surfaces together define an imaginary spherical surface. The plate peripheries increase the effective winding area of the coils with respect to the exterior dimensions of the coil form. Terminal posts for the ends of the coil wires are positioned on the plates so as not to waste space and not to project beyond the imaginary sphere.

  • Patent number: 5281943
Abstract: An electrical connector is provided which allows simple and efficient replacement of fuses contained within an electrical connector housing. The electrical connector includes a cover plate which is mounted at an upper section of the electrical connector housing. The cover plate is formed with a pair of separators and a projection extending from a lower surface of the cover plate. The two separators may be inserted between fuses and electrical prongs when the cover plate is prepared for opening. The projection pushes the fuses into contact with the electrical prongs in a firm manner for a good electrical connection when the cover plate is completely closed.

  • Patent number: 5280261
Abstract: An arc quenching, current limiting fuse utilizing a fuse link having a plurally of bends which cause the fuse link to come in contact or come in close proximity to the inside wall of the fuse body. When a short circuit and electrical arc occurs, the fuse link material burns toward the fuse wall creating an interaction with the fuse wall and an increase in pressure which extinguishes the arc.

  • Patent number: 5280134
Abstract: A protective packing element bears at its end 5 which is to be fixed on a wall opening a coupling piece which can be locked therein. The coupling piece is equipped with tongue-like locking elements and can be plugged onto a plug which itself can be plugged, for example, into an electrical plug-in connector located behind the wall opening. The locking elements have assigned to them deflection faces on the outer circumference of the plug. The plug and packing element end or coupling piece are inserted together into the wall opening. The locking elements of the coupling piece engage behind the wall opening in the course of insertion of the plug and are spread apart by the deflection faces during the further insertion of the plug. The locking elements eventually overrun the deflection faces and are secured in a spread-apart position.

  • Patent number: 5268664
Abstract: A thermostat having a cup for housing a bimetal blade. A flange extends from the top edge of the cup which receives an insulating layer and cover material on its top surface. The cover is then folded around and under the flange, simultaneously folding the insulating layer, and then crimped. The added layers of material, which previously extended beyond the depth of the cup can now be essentially equal to the extent of the cup's depth, providing substantially no additional thickness to the overall thermostat.
