A rib (114) and a locking portion (116) are respectively defined in corresponding inner wall of the first longitudinal and transverse peripheral walls. A second connector (200) comprises a second housing (30), a plurality of terminals (40) received in the second housing and a pair of metal ears (50) engaged with two opposite second peripheral walls. The terminal and the metal ear respectively define a protrusion (431) and a projection (54) extending outward thereof and snugly fit against the corresponding rib and the locking portion when the first and second connectors engage with each other.

    Abstract: An electrical interconnection system with high speed, high density electrical connectors. The connectors incorporate electrically lossy material, selectively positioned to reduce crosstalk without undesirably attenuating signals. The lossy material may be molded through ground conductors that separate adjacent differential pairs within columns of conductive elements in the connector. However, regions of lossy material may be set back from the edges of the ground conductors to avoid undesired attenuation of signals. Also, the lossy material may be positioned in multiple regions along the length of signal conductors. The regions may be separated by holes, notches, gaps or other openings in the lossy material, which can be simply formed as part of a molding operation.

The latch end is configured to be inserted into the latch cavity to latch with the mating connector and be removed from the latch cavity to unlatch with the mating connector. The floating portion is disposed between the front and rear towers. The floating portion is configured to be biased towards the housing by a load applied to the floating portion to raise the latch end out from the latch cavity. The load is applied in a direction towards the housing and between the front and rear towers.

An electrically conductive pin extends through the main recess and has a first end coupled to the planar surface conductor, a second end within the cylindrical bore and a bend therebetween. A dielectric is in the main recess between the pin and adjacent portions of the electrically conductive header, and an interconnect is within the cylindrical bore and includes a center conductive channel to receive the second end of the pin.

    Abstract: In one embodiment the present invention is a Flexible Connector Assemblies (FCA) 6 that comprises top and bottom plates connected by Flexible Connectors (FC) 8 and provides a compliant electrical joint between the first terminal lead 2 and the second terminal lead 4. These terminal leads 2 and 4 are connected to the top and bottom plates eccentrically in such a way that the total current 16 through the FCA is more evenly distributed among the FC 8 than when the leads are centered on their respective plates. This improvement in uniformity reduces the maximum current carried by any one FC, which substantially extends the operating life of the component.

    Abstract: According to the present invention, a vehicle connector lockout apparatus capable of being connected to the diagnostic port of a vehicle is provided. The preferred embodiment of the invention uses a raised protrusion, located in the common space below the two rows of pin spacing of the diagnostic port, as a locking point. The preferred embodiment provides a blocking mating connector with a pressure mechanism for clamping the mating connector to the protrusion. In the preferred embodiment the pressure mechanism is activated and released mechanically by operation of a key in a key lock which is an integral part of the mating connector, where rotation of the key to the locked position in the key lock applies pressure to the protrusion so as to clamp the blocking mating connector to the protrusion. A further embodiment of the invention provides a non-volatile microchip memory component to store information about the vehicle operator usable by medical personnel at the scene of a crash.
