Abstract: A system for interactive e-commerce using email, includes a server running an e-commerce website and a supporting database; the server sending an order confirmation email to a user in response to a user purchase; the email containing an interactivity script and an update script; wherein, upon the user using an email client to render the email, the interactivity script connects to the server and provides the user with an interface for feedback to the e-commerce website regarding the user purchase; and wherein, upon the user using the email client to render the email, the update script connects to the server and provides the user with an updated status of the purchase based on data in the supporting database.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for creating a custom service in a communication network are disclosed. For example, the method implemented via a processor determines that the custom service does not exist, receives one or more desired functions for the custom service, creates the custom service having the one or more desired functions and modifies one or more network elements within the communication network to perform the one or more desired functions to deploy the custom service.

Abstract: A computing system providing virtual computing services may generate and manage remote computing sessions between client devices and virtual desktop instances (workspaces) hosted on the service provider's network. The system may implement a virtual private cloud for a workspaces service that extends out to gateway components in multiple, geographically distributed point of presence (POP) locations. In response to a client request for a virtual desktop session, the service may configure a virtual computing resource instance for the session and establish a secure, reliable, low latency communication channel (over a virtual private network) between the resource instance and a gateway component at a POP location near the client for communication of a two-way interactive video stream for the session. The availability zone containing the POP location may be different than one hosting the resource instance for the session. Client devices may connect to the gateway component over a public network.

Abstract: A method and a device for hotspot leasing are provided. The method comprises: acquiring a data request packet transmitted by a requesting user (S11); based on a target data request packet acquired by a supplying user from the data request packet, transmitting hotspot information provided by the supplying user to the requesting user corresponding to the target data request packet, and establishing a hotspot leasing contract between the requesting user and the supplying user (S12). Therefore, demand docking is provided for both parties of leasing and selling by means of the data request packet, so that users with excess data provide data to users with data gaps. Urgent needs of one or more surrounding users are solved, near-field social contact for mutual assistance is established, and data utilization is improved.

Abstract: An autoscale-type performance assurance system performs autoscaling to increase or reduce the number of VMs/containers V1 to V4 generated in a server and resources of V1 to V4. A compute includes a plurality of types of V1 to V4, a data collection unit that collects a resource allocation amount of V1 to V4, and a resource control unit that performs autoscaling to increase or reduce the amount of resources of V1 to V4 according to a resource control amount. A controller includes a dependency calculation unit that calculates, based on the collected resource allocation amount, a degree of dependency indicating whether the resource allocation amount is dependent on a performance related to V1 to V4 for providing a communication service quality, and an autoscaling determination unit that obtains a resource control amount for increasing or reducing only resources related to the calculated degree of dependency indicating being dependent.

Abstract: Example methods and apparatus for managing user information of an application are described. One example method is applied to a user management device of a cloud platform, where the cloud platform is configured to bear an application registered by a user with the cloud platform. The method includes receiving a user management registration request of a first application, where the first application is one of applications registered with the cloud platform, and the user management registration request of the first application carries an identifier of the first application. A user management instance is created for the first application according to the user management registration request and the identifier of the first application, where the user management instance is used to manage user information of the first application. The user management instance is invoked to process a service that is in the first application and related to the user information.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for generating synthetic data from an aggregate dataset related to a plurality of entities. The method comprises defining a set of personas, selecting a network generation model, defining a network topology and generating the synthetic data. The set of personas is defined based on a number of the plurality of entities and/or a type of at least one of the plurality of entities. The network generation model is selected based on the defined set of personas and the aggregate dataset related thereto. The generated network topology comprises nodes and links between nodes using the selected network generation model. The node represents one of the personas in the set of personas. The link between two nodes represent one or more transactions between the personas represented by the two nodes. The generated synthetic data is based on information about distribution of the one or more transactions.

A computer receives a first business model and a second business model, and adds, for the plurality of business models, a first activity and a second activity which are respectively performed by the first and second business models to first information that predefines jobs performed by the business models as activities. Next, the computer adds the relation between a first data item and the first activity and the relation between a second data item and the second activity to second information that predefines the relation between the activities and the data items used for performing the activities. The first and second data items are used for performing the first and second activities, respectively. Then, the computer searches the second information to obtain a third activity including both the first data item and the second data item.

Abstract: An information management apparatus starts a conversation with a chatbot on an information processing terminal in response to a received chat start instruction, and based on the content of the conversation, sends recommend information related to a service to the information processing terminal. The information management apparatus sends pass information that enables access to user information received from the information processing terminal, the pass information being sent to an information processing device that corresponds to a provider of the service, when information indicating a desire to use the service is received from the information processing terminal in response to the recommend information. The information management apparatus deletes the user information when receiving from the information processing device, acknowledgment indicating that the service can be provided to the user that corresponds to the user information accessed using the pass information.

Abstract: A mission-specific computer peripheral provides a portable linkable work platform, useful for establishing a collaborative electronic work group quickly, at low cost, and without professional computing expertise. The office infrastructure device (“OID”) includes data storage (for storage of system and user data files), a unique device identification code (for identification when the device is plugged into a host personal computer), and an index (for registering user data files available within the work group). When connected, user executable code within the device is accessed through the host personal computer to launch thereon a user-definable work space. The work space provides, among other office infrastructure functions, access to programming that enables sharing of personal user work and data files among the authorized member nodes of the work group. The sharing is facilitated by the index, preferably in combination with a complementary work group server integrated within the underlying OID network.

Abstract: A promotion processing system may include a remote device and a promotion server. The promotion server may be configured to generate a promotion within a social media feed. The promotion may be associated with a given product brand. The promotion server may be configured to operate a chatbot conversation on the remote device corresponding to the promotion. Abstract: The present invention relates to a software defined networking in a wide area network (SD-WAN) device, comprising a network monitor which observes and gathers network parameters reflecting network conditions and stores them to a database; a metrics collector which receives and gathers node parameters reflecting node status stores them to the database, a traffic manager which performs a traffic evaluation on the network parameters or node parameters to identify if a network traffic level is within a performance range, and a policy engine which performs a mitigation evaluation on the analysis done by the traffic manager to determine if a mitigation strategy must be initiated. If a mitigation strategy must be initiated, the policy engine determines a target node to receive the mitigation strategy and translates the mitigation strategy into a format understandable to the target node and pushes a mitigation command containing the mitigation strategy to the target node.

Abstract: For caching of cognitive applications in a communication network a first input signal from a sensor device is detected by a proxy having a cache associated therewith. A representation of the first input signal is computed and sent to a server. A handle function is applied to the representation of the first input signal to compute a first handle value corresponding to the first input signal. The representation of the first input signal is transformed using a cognitive processing model of an answer function to compute a first answer value. A content of the cache is modified by the proxy by storing the first answer value in association with the first handle value in the cache.
