  • Patent number: 9710568
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for transforming RDF quads to relational views. The method commences by receiving a named graph, the named graph comprising at least one RDF quad, and analyzing the named graph to produce analysis metadata. The method uses the analysis metadata to generate relational views. The method further comprises publishing a relational view in the form of a SPARQL query. The quality of the results can be quantitatively measured and reported by calculating a goodness score based at least in part on aspects of the relational view definitions. Several variants for transformation include generating relational view definitions formed using a named-graph strict variant, or a named-graph relaxed variant, or a named-graph agnostic variant. The transformations can form outputs responsive to characteristics or properties such as a number of classes, a number of single-valued properties, a number of nullability properties, or a number of type-uniformed ranges.

  • Patent number: 9659041
Abstract: An aspect of the present invention provides for capturing of audit trail data related to processing of requests. In an embodiment, the received requests are classified into a first category and a second category. For each request in the first category, the corresponding audit trail data is stored directly into non-volatile storage upon processing of the request. On the other hand, for each request in the second category, the audit trail data is first stored into a volatile memory upon processing of the request, and then later copied from the volatile memory to non-volatile storage. Thus, the audit trail data corresponding to both categories of requests is eventually available stored on non-volatile storage.

  • Patent number: 9645950
Abstract: A designated storage system receives a request to store data in the local storage as a backup copy. The designated storage system requests a file system in the computer system to store the backup copy as a file in the local storage and maintains a record describing storage locations for each of the one or more sets of contiguous available file system data blocks. The storage system may transmit the record to a management computer configured to track which of the computer systems has stored the backup copy. The storage system then requests the file system to delete the file, whereupon the file system removes the file descriptor and frees the one or more file system data blocks in order to satisfy the deletion request but does not delete the data stored in the one or more file system data blocks.

  • Patent number: 7162691
Abstract: A system for automatically enhancing Web pages with annotations expressed in Extensible Markup Language (XML) which describes the pages' multimedia content. Each Web page is parsed or scanned to identify markup tags which contain the URLs of separately stored multimedia data (e.g. image, audio or video files). Each referenced multimedia data entity is then retrieved and analyzed by a type-specific process to extract metadata which describes its content. Additional descriptive metadata may be obtained from the referencing markup tag, accepted from a human editor, or fetched from operating system directories which provide access to the multimedia files. The resulting metadata is expressed in text-based XML format and inserted into a copy of the Web page to form an enhanced Web page whose multimedia content may then be processed by conventional text-based indexing and searching facilities.

  • Patent number: 5295236
Abstract: A trapping technique which accepts a Postscript or other page description language (PDL) file and outputs a file in PDL format having the correct traps. The input page is first divided into sub-portions, or tiles, and the tiles are individually processed by evaluating the input file in a corresponding clipping window. Each tile is then analyzed to determine where edges exist. The edge data is fed to an edge converter which produces a list of color transitions consisting of the analytic description of each edge and the color information along the sides of the edge. The color transition information is fed to a trapping analyzer which generates trap vectors in accordance with a set of desired trapping rules. The trap vectors are then converted to PDL form. As a final step, the trap vectors are added to the original PDL file. The final trapped page may be printed on standard typesetters without the need for special trap generator hardware.

  • Patent number: 4511979
Abstract: An electric energy meter for measuring various parameters of electrical energy consumption during time differentiated billing rate periods, and for controlling a load. A clock produces periodic timing pulses which are accumulated to represent the current time. Stored within the meter are a plurality of preselected rate change control points defining time intervals and their associated billing rates, i.e. on-peak, mid-peak, and base. The current time is compared with each rate change control point until a time interval into which the current time falls is found. The rate change control point defining this time interval, designated the current rate change control point, controls accumulation of the energy consumption data in accord with its billing rate data code. The load control bit associated with the current rate change control point determines whether the load is to be shed or reconnected during the time interval the current rate change control point controls accumulation of the energy consumption data.
