  • Patent number: 10924332
Abstract: Techniques are described for facilitating node protection for Broadcast, unknown Unicast, and Multicast (BUM) traffic for a multi-homed node failure. For example, multi-homed provider edge (PE) devices each advertise egress node protection labels to an ingress PE device. In the event one of the multi-homed PE devices fails, the ingress PE device sends a BUM packet including the egress node protection labels for the failed node. When an egress PE device receives the BUM packet, the egress PE device determines whether the BUM packet includes the egress node protection labels and whether the egress PE device is operating as a backup designated forwarder (DF) on an Ethernet segment identifier (ESI) for which the failed node was the DF. If the BUM packet includes the egress node protection labels and the egress PE device is operating as a backup DF, the egress PE device forwards the BUM traffic to the ESI.

  • Patent number: 10893509
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A transmitting device may send a signal including multiple transport blocks corresponding to multiple simultaneous hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes. Additional control information may be used to support the multiple simultaneous HARQ processes. For instance, the additional control information may indicate the number of available HARQ processes, an activity state for each HARQ process (e.g., active new data, active retransmission, or inactive), and the redundancy versions of each HARQ process. In some cases, the additional control information may be included in a downlink grant. A receiving device may respond with an acknowledgement or negative acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) for each of the transport blocks. The transmitting device may identify a retransmission status for each HARQ process based on the ACK/NACKs, and transmit new redundancy versions (or new data) to the receiving device.

  • Patent number: 10893405
Abstract: A method, performed by a RAN node, for enabling connection setup for a wireless device in a communication network comprising a first network which is a home network of the wireless device and a second network which is visited by the wireless device. The networks each comprise partitioned sets of functionalities, which sets of functionalities each belong to a network slice of the network, wherein a first set of functionalities in the first network belongs to a first network slice supporting the wireless device. The RAN node receives a first network identity for the home network, an identity of the first network slice supporting the wireless device in the home network and a second network identity for the second network, from the wireless device, to retrieve an identity of a second network slice capable of supporting the wireless device in the second network to determine a second core network node.

  • Patent number: 10887214
Abstract: Excessive latencies and power consumption are avoided when a large number of leaf nodes (LNs) contend simultaneously to join a time slotted channel hopping wireless communication network having a root node (RN) interfaced to LNs by one or more intermediate nodes (INs). A first plurality of shared transmit/receive slots (STRSs) is allocated for at least one IN, and a second plurality of STRSs is advertised for use by contending LNs, where the first plurality is larger than the second plurality. When a LN joins, its STRSs are re-defined such that most become shared transmit-only slots (STOSs) and no STRSs remain. The numbers of STRSs allocated to INs may vary inversely with their hop counts from the RN. One or more STOSs may be added for each of one or more INs in response to a predetermined network condition.

  • Patent number: 10736087
Abstract: A wireless communication system is presented for future scheduling of secondary component carrier(s) (SCC) during carrier aggregation in LTE wireless communications. A primary component carrier in a first subframe can be used to indicate at what future subframe SCC data may exist for the mobile device (e.g., UE, etc.). The UE can then leave off all SCC receive circuitry until the future subframe, when it can turn on all needed SCC receive circuitry to receive the SCC data. After receiving the SCC data, the UE can again power off the SCC receive circuitry.
