Abstract: A dental device (such as a dental matrix or teeth tray) for use in in securing to one or more teeth during a dental restoration procedure or another dental procedure. In the case of a dental matrix, the dental matrix can be manufactured (e.g., in a dentist's facility using a three-dimensional printer apparatus or the like) after the targeted tooth of the patient in the dentist's facility is prepared for a filling material. As such, in some circumstances, the dental matrix is not necessarily a prefabricated metal band that is intended to be used with any of a variety of differently sized and shaped teeth of any of a variety of different patients, but instead the dental matrix may optionally be promptly fabricated according to the specific anatomical shape and size of a particular tooth of a particular patient while that patient is waiting in the dental chair.

The arms are connected to a cross-member at the end opposite the hook. A multi-rod adjustment member is pivotally attached to the cross-member. A mirror is pivotally attached to the free end of the adjustment member. The device is designed to be secured to a patient's ears by the arms with the cross-member resting on the patient's chin. The mirror can be adjusted to reflect different portions of the patient's mouth to help a person applying treatment visualize the treatment zone. The arms and cross-member may include projections to assist in securing a dental dam in place around the patient's mouth.
Abstract: Feedback data useful in prosthodontic procedures associated with the intra oral cavity is provided. First, a 3D numerical model of the target zone in the intra oral cavity is provided, and this is manipulated so as to extract particular data that may be useful in a particular procedure, for example data relating to the finish line or to the shape and size of a preparation. The relationship between this data and the procedure is then determined, for example the clearance between the preparation and the intended crown. Feedback data, indicative of this relationship, is then generated, for example whether the preparation geometry is adequate for the particular type of prosthesis.
Abstract: A drawing device includes: an insertion portion into which a finger or a toe including a nail which is a drawing target surface is inserted, the insertion portion including an opening configured to expose an entire tip portion of the finger or toe including a region having the nail of the finger or toe; and a holding portion in the insertion portion configured to suppress movement of the finger or toe. The holding portion includes: a first pressing portion opposing a side surface on one side in a width direction of the inserted tip portion of the finger or toe and configured to press the side surface on the one side; and a second pressing portion opposing a side surface on another side in the width direction of the tip portion of the finger or toe and configured to press the side surface on the another side.

The first portion of the archwire segment is coupled to the first orthodontic bracket, the second portion of the archwire segment is coupled to the second orthodontic bracket. The first gear module is configured to provide a first force to the first portion of the first archwire segment, the second gear module is configured to provide a second force to the second portion of the first archwire segment, and the first gear module is configured to provide the first force independently of the second gear module.
Abstract: Provided herein is a retraction device for retracting soft tissue from the dental surfaces in the oral cavity of a patient. The retraction device is comprised of a topology conformable structure, where the topology conformable structure is adaptable to be delivered to the oral cavity in a constrained shape. The device can then undergo a conformation change in the oral cavity, where the device transforms into its unconstrained shape. The unconstrained shape of the device creates a useable working field in the oral cavity. The useable working field can provide increased accessibility to and/or visibility within the oral cavity. Also provided herein are methods for using the device and kits.
Abstract: The disclosure relates, in some embodiments, to a bone foundation guide configured to guide alteration of an alveolar ridge. A bone foundation guide may include a body with (a) a first end of a buccal wall and a first end of a lingual wall each connected to a first end of the body and (b) a second end of the buccal wall and a second end of the lingual wall each connected to a second end of the body such that the buccal wall is substantially parallel to the lingual wall and a space between the buccal wall and the lingual wall defines an open surgical space. A body may be configured to sit adjacent to a tissue spacing gasket having a thickness equivalent to a gum tissue that would normally cover the bone segment.
Abstract: A dental implant includes a screw body and screw threads. The screw body has an apical end and a coronal end. Screw threads include a primary thread and a secondary thread, which overlap in at least a portion of the screw thread. Thread depth progressively increases from the coronal end to the apical end. The coronal end may contain any suitable secondary characteristics, such as machined threads, grooves, micro-threads, or any other characteristics favorable to successful outcomes with dental implant treatment. A method of making such a dental implant is also disclosed.
Abstract: A dental implant for supporting periodontal tissue and the supporting bone is provided. The dental implant includes an implant member for insertion into a periodontal bone socket, and an anchoring assembly. The anchoring assembly includes a fastening element and radially equidistant cylindrical members. The fastening element engages the implant member within the hollow axial cavity. The root section includes through-holes for radially and forcibly sliding the cylindrical members through them. When the fastening element apically advances within the hollow axial cavity, the cylindrical members generate an anchoring force to anchor the dental implant.

Abstract: Various aspects are directed to dental extraction and dental extraction devices. As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments herein, a dental extraction apparatus includes an engagement component that extracts teeth from patients' mouths by engaging with and applying a torque to a tooth. An input torque component translates received input torque to the engagement component. A torque controller operates with the input torque component and the engagement component to limit the applied torque, relative to input torque provided via the input torque component.
Abstract: The provision of dental restorations can be improved by generating a cold atmospheric plasma inside the mouth of the patient and then applying that cold atmospheric plasma onto a dental restoration site. The dental restoration site can be composed of either or both of dentin and enamel. Further, the provision of dental restorations can also be improved by introducing a dental adhesive onto a dental restoration site and treating it with a cold atmospheric plasma.
