  • Patent number: 8262414
Abstract: A connector includes an insulating housing, terminals assembled in the insulating housing, a first shell having a receiving space surrounded by a top plate, two lateral plates and a bottom plate for receiving the insulating housing therein, and a second shell having a base board electrically fixed on the top plate. Two sides of the top plate define two first openings spaced from each other and communicating with the receiving space. A rear side of each first opening extends forward to form an elastic arm with a free end arched downward into the receiving space. Two sides of the base board define two second openings corresponding to the first openings. A rear side of each second opening protrudes forward to form an extending arm resting against a top of the elastic arm for strengthening insertion and extraction strength of the elastic arms acting on a plug connector.

  • Patent number: 7249971
Abstract: A hermetic pressure connector which provides a pressure-tight, electrically conductive connection through a hole in a bulkhead. The connector includes a transverse support member having a high pressure side and an opposite low pressure side. A passage extends through the transverse support member between the opposite sides. A conductor pin having an axial portion extends through the passage. An insulating sleeve surrounds at least the axial portion of the conductor pin, thereby electrically insulating the transverse support member from the conductor pin. A molded connected body surrounds at least a central portion of the conductor pin at least at one of the high and low pressure sides to thereby mechanically support the conductor pin in the passage. The molded connector body is directly sealingly engaged with the conductor pin, the insulating sleeve and the transverse support member.

  • Patent number: 6030245
Abstract: An electrical connector (10) includes an insulative housing (12) defining a central slot (14) for receiving a module (100) therein. A plurality of contacts are disposed by two side of the central slot (14). A pair of platforms (18) are provided at two ends of the housing (12). A latch device (22) provided adjacent to each corresponding platform, includes a plastic member (24) with a locking head (48) integrally extending by the outside of said platform (18), and a metal member (26) including a resilient body (36) positioned by the outside of the plastic member (24), wherein both the resilient bodies (36) of the metal members (26) at two opposite ends of the housing (12) are substantially exposed to an exterior and commonly define the maximum lengthwise dimension of the connector (12), so that the full lengthwise dimension of the connector (10) can be reduced for miniaturization.

  • Patent number: 5997353
Abstract: A metallic housing for a shielded electrical connector is provided for connection to a tube-like electrical shield of an electrical cable which is to be connected to the connector. The metallic housing has an opening formed in a face wall at a side where the electrical cable is inserted therethrough. A sleeve, having an inlet opening, is provided with a flange contacting one side of the face wall. The sleeve has at least one projection with an outer thread protruding from the other side of the face wall, onto which a threaded nut is screwed in order to clamp the face wall between the flange and the threaded nut. An end area of the sleeve adjacent to the side at which the cable is inserted has a larger inner diameter adapted to the outer diameter of the cable and the remaining part of the sleeve has a smaller inner diameter adapted to the outer diameter of the shield thereby providing an electromagnetically tight connection.

  • Patent number: 5772459
Abstract: A rotationally actuated compliant electrical connector includes a male connector member having an elongated body with a head at one body end, and a female connector member having a generally hollow body with an internal cavity. The male connector member includes at least one electrical contact disposed within the head adjacent a tip. The head is positioned perpendicular to the male connector member body. The female connector member includes at least one electrical contact disposed within the cavity and adapted to connect with respective electrical contacts of the male connector member when the head of the male connector member is rotatably displaced within the cavity. The male and female connector members are each adapted to accommodate pivoting rotational movement of the head within the cavity to produce electrical connection between respective electrical contacts.

  • Patent number: 5649836
Abstract: An electrical connector comprises a cover insulator and a base insulator relatively movable with respect to each other in a first direction. The base insulator has a plurality of conductive contacts assembled to extend in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The cover insulator has a plurality of pin insertion holes in one-to-one correspondence to the contacts. A board has a plurality of conductive terminal pins to be inserted in the second direction into the pin insertion holes in one-to-one correspondence. Each contact has a pair of resilient contact pieces biased in a third direction perpendicular to the first and the second directions when the cover insulator is moved in the first direction. Each of the resilient contact pieces has a contacting portion to be contacted to or released from each of the terminal pins.
