Abstract: An action group arbitration system can include an action table and a search block having a first type memory portion and a second type memory portion is disclosed. The search block can provide a plurality of search results, each corresponding to a group number, in response to a search key. The action table may receive the search results and provide an action indication in response to each of the plurality of search results that contain a hit indication. The first type memory portion can include static random access memory (SRAM) and the second type memory portion can include ternary content addressable memory (TCAM). Further, the action table may be divided into portions corresponding to the group number.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method, system, and program for transaction management. An indication is received that a transaction is beginning. An operation identifier for the transaction is generated. Actions are logged for the transaction identified by the operation identifier, wherein the actions include requests, corresponding reverse requests, and locks granted. Also disclosed is a method, system, and program for locking management. A command is received that specifies an operation identifier. It is determined whether the command is associated with a transaction using the operation identifier. If it is determined that the command is associated with a transaction, operating at a transaction level of locking. Further disclosed is a method, system, and program for lock management. Under control of a lock manager, (i) lock request queuing is performed, (ii) heartbeat functions are performed, and (iii) state information is maintained.

Abstract: A database (DB) server in which a database management system (DBMS) operates and a prefetch server connected to a storage device storing DB data are provided with an acquiring unit for acquiring information on a storage location on the storage device of a DB schema managed by the DBMS, information on DB processing executed by the DBMS, and information on an access to DB data made when the DBMS executes the DB processing, from the DB server, a predictor for predicting data to be read out on the basis of the acquired information, and a prefetch instructing unit for providing the storage device with an instruction to prefetch the corresponding data. Having received the prefetch instruction, the storage device reads out specified data onto a cache memory.

Abstract: A method of extracting isosurface data from hierarchical node data, including providing hierarchical node data representing an object, the hierarchical node data including a lowest hierarchy level having a plurality of leaf nodes and a plurality of higher hierarchy levels each having a plurality of non-leaf nodes each encompassing ones of the plurality of leaf nodes. The method also includes determining a plurality of leaf node splats each corresponding to one of the plurality of leaf nodes that includes a portion of an isosurface, wherein each of the plurality of leaf node splats is based on scalar data corresponding to at least one of the plurality of leaf nodes. A plurality of non-leaf node splats each corresponding to one of the plurality of non-leaf nodes that includes a portion of the isosurface is also determined, wherein each of the plurality of non-leaf node splats is based on a plurality of splats each corresponding to a lower hierarchical node.

Abstract: A method for defining description objects to be included into a hierarchical structured device description framework (DDF), where the DDF is constituted by a plurality of objects being hierarchically inter-associated to each other forming a kind of tree-like structure. The hierarchical structure is obtained by using different types of objects comprising at least: fixed parent object, run-time parent object, leaf object and link object. Each description object has one directly superordinate associated object, i.e. a parent object, whereas objects of the types fixed parent object and run-time parent object are allowed to have none, one or more objects being directly associated subordinate, i.e. child objects. At least one new object is defined to be associated to a parent object. If the parent object is a fixed parent object, the at least one new object is allowed to be a fixed object, run-time object, leaf object or link object.

Abstract: A system and method for distributing a plurality of electronic articles is provided. Articles are received from a plurality of users and stored retrievably in memory. A request is received for the purchase of an article from one of a plurality of users. An electronic funding account associated with the one of a plurality of users is debited, and the article is transmitted to the one of the plurality of users.
