  • Patent number: 9724795
Abstract: A tooling system that includes a drive unit configured to provide rotational force to a tool member. The tool member is attached at a mount on the drive unit. A camera associated with the drive unit is aligned to capture a target on the tool member. The data is sent to a controller that identifies the tool member based on the target. The controller determines whether the tool member is correct for performing an operation on a work piece. If the tool member is correct, the controller may set one or more operating parameters on the drive unit. If the controller determines that the tool member is not correct, the drive unit is disabled. Further, a signal may be sent to inform an operator of the issue.

  • Patent number: 9724813
Abstract: The invention concerns a hydraulic striking tool for application in rock and/or concrete cutting equipment containing a machine housing (100;200) with a cylinder (115;215) with a moveably mounted piston (145;245) which during operation performs a repetitive forward and backward movement relative to the machine housing (100;200) and directly or indirectly strike a rock and/or concrete cutting tool (155;255), and where the piston (145;245) includes a driving part (165;265) which separates a first (120;220) and a second (105;221) driving chamber formed between the piston (145;245) and the machine housing (100;200) and where these driving chambers are arranged to include a pressurized working fluid during operation. The total volume V of the first and second driving chambers is inversely proportional dimensioned to the square of a for the striking tool recommended maximal pressure p, as well as proportional, by a proportionality constant k within the interval 5.3-21.

  • Patent number: 9718158
Abstract: A fastening device includes first to third rotary sensors (position detecting unit) which are provided in a support arm and detect a position of a nut runner (fastening tool), and a main controller (controlling unit) which has a storage unit for storing a plurality of fastening positions of a chain cover, and drives the nut runner when a detection result from the first to third rotary sensors coincides with position information of the fastening position of the chain cover stored by the storage unit. Therefore, during a fastening work, an operator does not need to pull a trigger to drive and rotate the nut runner, thus reducing a burden on the operator during the fastening work.

  • Patent number: 9717497
Abstract: An end effector for use with a surgical instrument includes a first jaw, a second jaw, a blade assembly, and a lockout assembly. The first jaw removably couples with a staple cartridge. The second jaw is movably coupled with the first jaw. The blade assembly translates relative to the first jaw and includes a first tab. The lockout assembly includes a resilient member that biases the blade assembly to a lockout position. The lockout assembly engages the first tab of the blade assembly in the lockout position to prevent the blade assembly from translating distally relative to the first jaw when a staple cartridge is absent from the first jaw or when a spent staple cartridge is disposed in the first jaw.

  • Patent number: 9717498
Abstract: A surgical stapling apparatus (stapler) is provided. A tool assembly includes first and second jaw members. A cartridge assembly includes an actuation sled and a slide. A drive member having a working end is configured to translate through the tool assembly when the first and second jaw members are in a closed configuration. A lock assembly including a latch is movable from a locked position to an unlocked position. The latch is urged to the locked position to engage the working end to prevent distal translation of the drive member through the tool assembly. The slide is configured to move the latch from the locked position to the unlocked position upon installation of an unspent cartridge assembly onto the first jaw member. The slide is movable by the drive member upon actuation of the stapling apparatus to allow the latch to move back to the locked position.

  • Patent number: 9714102
Abstract: A method and system for dynamically adjusting the placement of internal content material to optimally position the content material relative to a wrapped enclosure, and obviate the requirement to out-sort the assembled envelope. Upon assembly, a detection system visually images each envelope in predetermined regions of interest (ROIs). A controller captures the image data for comparison with a set of predefined position data and issues a feedback signal indicative of a directional change which drives an error signal to zero. The correction signal is used by the phase nip roller assembly to adaptively adjust the position of the content material by incrementally adjusting, advancing or retarding, the phase-nip roller assembly, i.e., forward or aft. A predefined number of envelopes is selected to acquire a running average of the image data.
