    Abstract: A manifold for a heat exchanger comprising a tank, a plurality of tubes arranged to receive fluid therein, a plurality of fins for interspacing the tubes, the fins extending along the length of the tubes to thereby define a core section, wherein the header section is formed with multi-point brazing interfaces for securing said header and said core section during a brazing process. One embodiment provides at least one doubled wall area in close proximity to the tube slot areas to form a structure of increased strength, permitting the material to be reduced in relative thickness. The manifold may be formed from flat sheet stock by extended side walls of the header portion joined by a separate cap to close a top portion of the manifold assembly for the purpose of collecting fluid to and from the tubes and said at least one inlet and outlet.

    Abstract: A natural gas fuel storage and supply system, particularly suited for use in vehicles powered by liquid natural gas (LNG), includes an insulated tank containing a supply of LNG with a headspace there above. A pump and a vaporizer are in circuit between the tank and the engine of the vehicle. When activated, the pump pressurizes LNG from the tank and directs it to the vaporizer where gaseous LNG is produced. The pressurized gaseous LNG is routed to the engine where it is consumed as fuel. An economizer circuit communicates with the headspace of the tank and includes a regulator, a control valve and a flow control device. The control valve opens when the vehicle engine is in operation and the regulator opens when the pressure in the tank exceeds a predetermined level so that LNG vapor from the tank headspace flows to the vehicle engine air inlet where it is consumed.

    Abstract: A coupler for receiving a threaded male luer fitting in sealed relationship includes a housing having an attachment end, a conduit end opposite the attachment end and defining a central passageway for providing fluid communication between the luer fitting and a conduit. An arrangement is attached to the housing for establishing a sealed connection between a luer tip and the central passageway. The conduit end has a relatively larger diameter than the attachment end and defines a shoulder at a junction of the attachment end and the conduit end. A resilient member is disposed on the attachment end adjacent the shoulder for exerting an axially directed compressive force upon the male luer fitting as it is threadably engaged upon the attachment end.

    Abstract: The present invention provides apparatus for low-cost extraction of oil residues from oil filters. The apparatus of the invention has a mounting structure or plate to which a number of oil filters can be strapped. Over 95% of the oil in each filter can be drained therefrom under the influence of gravitational forces. Oil draining from the oil filters is allowed to gather in a pan, bucket, container or well located below the mounting plate. Connected to the mounting structure is a mechanical or electrical oscillator for imparting a vibratory oscillation to the mounting structure and, hence, to the mounted oil filters. The weak surface tension and molecular forces between the residual oil molecules and the paper filter materials will be overcome by the vibration, and the residual oil will run off.

The holder or a continuous wall region of the holder, constituting about 15% of the total wall area of the holder, is fabricated of a flexible material that is at least substantially impermeable to the carbon dioxide snow and permeable to gaseous carbon dioxide. Additionally, a combination container and holder is disclosed along with a combination holder and support structure. The support structure is attachable to the container to support the holder so that the carbon dioxide snow is in gaseous communication with the interior of the container.

    Abstract: The liquid flowing through a heat circulation system including a boiler can be maintained in an air absorbing condition even at the highest elevation in the circulation system. The air absorbing condition is attained by alternately subjecting the liquid in the boiler to the high pressure of the circulating system and at least to atmospheric pressure and effecting deaeration while the liquid is at atmospheric pressure. During deaeration the liquid is blocked from flowing from the boiler into the circulation system. Following deaeration, the liquid is brought up to the high pressure of the system before it is directed back into the system.

    Abstract: A refrigerating system for generating low temperatures has one high-temperature region refrigerator sub-system and one low-temperature region refrigerator sub-system. The low-temperature region refrigerator sub-system has at least one expansion space defined internally of a first bellows and at least one compression space defined internally of a second bellows. Each bellows is expanded and contracted by a respective connecting member coupled to a power source. A working medium provided in the low-temperature region refrigerator sub-system travels through a flow path between the compression and expansion spaces inside the respective bellows. Means are provided for bringing the maximum pressure of the working medium to a value below its critical pressure, or for bringing the critical pressure of the working medium to a value between its maximum and minimum pressures, thereby liquifying some or all of the working medium in the at least one expansion space.
