Abstract: A temperature-controlled beverage dispenser is disclosed, which provides a cold plate having disposed therein beverage lines and refrigerant lines. The refrigerant lines may be connected to a cooling system, such as a heat exchanger, which is configured to remove heat from the cold plate. The beverage lines may be connected to a beverage supply for dispensing a desired beverage. Valves and a pressure sensor in the refrigerant line are connected to a microprocessor. At regular intervals, the microprocessor closes the valves, waits a short time, and then takes a pressure reading, which corresponds to a temperature. If the temperature falls below a desired value, then the cooling system is shut off. This permits the microprocessor to closely control the temperature of the beverage being dispensed.

Abstract: A compressor control apparatus and method, and a refrigerator including the same, are provided. In a refrigerator having two compressors, starting of two compressors may be staggered to reduce an effect of the suction pressure and discharge pressure between the two compressors, to provide for stable operation of the compressors, and improve reliability and power consumption.
Abstract: A system and method of controlling a ventilation system is provided based on a determination of local dew point and automatically activating an exhaust fan before condensate appears on structure and objects and ideally before visible condensation forms in the air of an enclosed area. Firmware in the control circuit detects the presence of hardware components and operates a control circuit in one of a plurality of modes based on the detected hardware components that are coupled to the control circuit.
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to keep an appropriate amount of a refrigerant to be circulated through a refrigerant circuit and prevent an overload operation of compression means due to high pressure abnormality in a refrigerating apparatus which obtains a supercritical pressure on a high pressure side.
Abstract: Systems and methods for low ambient air temperature cooling in air-source based heat pump systems wherein an outdoor heat pump unit includes a discharge hood positionable over its fan. The hood including a damper that is openable and closeable as a function of outside temperature. The outdoor unit may also include wind deflectors positioned over the coil openings of the disclosure. During cooling operations below a low outside air threshold temperature, e.g., below 23° F., the damper assembly partially closes to reduce airflow across the condenser coil of the outdoor unit to a level below that which is possible at minimum fan speed. As the outdoor temperature continues to drop, the damper assembly continues to close to further reduce airflow.
Abstract: A heater jacket for a fluid line including a tube having an inner surface and an outer surface; a spacer disposed within the tube between the inner surface and the fluid line; and wherein the spacer includes a hole for receiving the fluid line therein and spaces the fluid line from the tube inner surface.

Abstract: To provide an air-conditioning apparatus that reduces large refrigerant noise generated when changing an operation mode. In an air-conditioning apparatus, when switching to a second operation mode from a first operation mode, switching to the second operation mode is performed after a predetermined time has elapsed after controlling either or all of expansion devices, controlling either or all of second flow switching devices, and controlling either or all of a first on-off device and a second on-off device such that a pressure difference of a heat source side refrigerant before and after each of the expansion devices is smaller compared to that in an operation state of the first operation mode.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to heat pumps that utilize at least one solar receiver operating with the same working fluids. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a hybrid solar heat pump comprised of at least one microchannel heat exchanger with integral solar absorber, at least one compression device as the heat pump for concurrent compression to a higher pressure and mass flow regulator of the working fluid, and at least one working fluid accumulator with the entire system operating with the same working fluid.
Abstract: Conveying system and method for sensing and controlling the surface temperature of a conveyor transporting articles through a process that incidentally changes the temperature of the conveyor. The conveyor system includes a conveyor such as a transport belt having temperature sensors embedded in the belt at spaced locations along its length. Transmitters embedded in the belt transmit temperature readings made by the sensors to a remote controller. The remote controller controls a temperature modification unit in the belt's conveyor path that restores the temperature of the belt to an optimum range for the processing of the articles. The controller creates a temperature map of at least a portion of the conveyor path.

Abstract: High-pressure feed gas is chilled and expanded to condense a portion of the feed gas into a C2+ enriched liquid phase and a C2+ depleted vapor phase. The liquid phase is expanded to provide additional cooling for the feed gas and deethanizer reflux prior to being fed to the deethanizer while the vapor is combined with residue gas of a deethanizer.
Abstract: A refrigerating system including an air conditioning system and a cooler system is provided. An air conditioner-side refrigerant passage may be connected to a cooler-side refrigerant passage to allow refrigerant to flow between the air conditioning system and the cooler system. Thus, if a cooler-side compressor experiences abnormal operation, cooler-side refrigerant may be compressed by an air conditioner-side compressor so as to maintain cooling performance of the refrigerating system.

Abstract: An auxiliary heater control device can be readily attached to a hot water heating system configured with a simple water circuit without a hot water storage tank, and is capable of preventing freezing of circulating water such that use of an auxiliary heater is minimized. When a sensed temperature tS sensed by a temperature sensor is in a range, a control device increases a rotational speed of a circulation pump. When the sensed temperature tS is in a range, the control device increases the rotational speed of the circulation pump and lowers an operating frequency of a compressor. When the sensed temperature tS is in a range, the control device increases the rotational speed of the circulation pump, lowers the operating frequency of the compressor, and activates an auxiliary heater.
